Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them.  ~Bill Vaughn, quoted in Jon Winokur, The Portable Curmudgeon, 1987

Earth Day 2007:  I don't feel like celebrating....Matt

Update 4/29/07:  I wonder if what's happening in the US real estate market (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18335054/) will affect sales for the projects above?

its okay matt...construction is silly when it takes down so many beautiful trees

just think about all the good things that are happening, instead! i raised $54 in coins for WWF's Time for Change Earth Day campaign this month along with millions of other people.

keep up your advocacy. i think it's an inspiration to all the rainforest lovers of the world :)

happy earth day!

Matt,

I share your pain, but remember that every tree saved is one less lost - - - that is positive and makes a difference.  As you have said many times before, the key is getting the tourist industry (hotel operators, condo owners, etc) behind this cause to protect and insure their future.  The way to make certain that they do not lose the value is to protect the Costa Rican forest and environment to creates this value.  Keep up the good work.
