Richard Scarry's Going Places
By Richard Scarry
see relatedLast weekend, we were thrilled to have representatives of the Tutterow clan visit our household in Eudora. Brad and Joy, as well as their three delightful children came and good times ensued. Along with the visit was a special gift for Moses. While he doesn't need it quite yet, I'm sure it will join us for many meals in the future.
"Thank you, Kathy, for this personalized bib!"
Along with the kids, I also vote that playing blocks with them was in my top 5 as well. I hope that Moses will enjoy playing blocks as much as his mother.
Later on in the week, we began to make plans for the weekend in Illinois. Below is Moses seeking inspiration for his upcoming journey.
My men in blue and white. As some of you know, Moses has a best friend in our house. It is lamp. As coincedence would have it, this is also a purchase from Roy and Kathy Tutterow for our wedding. Whenever Moses is fussy or just out of sorts, we flick this on, and it is an instant calm to him. Amazing stuff, lemme tell ya.

"Maybe, I'll just walk to Illinois."
"Or maybe, I'll just ride shotgun. Either way, I gotta make it to see...
Calvin, the birthday boy!
"Is everyone having a good time? Did you all get cake?"
He's such a polite little man.
He held up his finger for "one" briefly, but then he decided to lick off the icing. :)
While Calvin was distracted with cake...
We caught Moses playing with Calvin's basketball.
Calvin had plenty more to be distracted with, like GOLF!
We be clubbin'!
We be muggin'!
We be smurkin'!
We be chillin' with Gramps.
We be sleepin'. Whew!
Nice threads, gentlemen!
"Thank you. My mother has excellent taste."
"What do you mean, 'It's almost time to go back home.'??!!"
"I just love Sunday's at Grandma and Grandpa's!"
And after all that it was time to go home.
Much needed rest for the weary.

Blake is pals with lamp at our house too, along with several other inanimate objects--calculator, clock, microwave, and his bestest buddy, phone.
It was so good to see all of you this weekend and to get some Moses snugglin' time.
