| | Bridge DayIt is Bridge Day here in WV. We don't live too far from the event, which is a lot of fun to watch... those that jump think it is a lot of fun too, I guess. Bridge Day has been happening for 29 years.
The road, Rte. 19 is shut down completely (if you are traveling through WV, this is not the route to take!). There are vendors, a concert that night, (here in Summersville), a car show, base jumping, and rapelling. You can watch from the top of the bridge (which is Western Hemisphere's the longest steel arch bridge) or from a whitewater raft 876 ft below on the mighty New River.
The leaves this year are beautiful - just coming into their peak... the weather is cool, and the sun has been shining... a perfect fall day...
