  • My husband did a good job of presenting God's Word, once again today.

I got to thinking while he was preaching that in some places the church really isn't doing it's job of teaching the Gospel to people. I thought about the Ethiopian eunuch and how he was reading some of the scriptures...but that he didn't fully understand what he was reading. Then Philip went to the eunuch and gave him the Good News. Paul was there to teach the disciples further about baptism in Acts 19 when they didn't fully understand. And Priscilla and Aquila taught Apollos the Word more accurately.

In all of these cases, the people who were being taught already had some knowledge of God's Word, but their knowledge was incomplete and without understanding. The people who went to them and taught them knew the truth and shared that truth.

I want to be more willing to go to the people who need a better understanding of God's Word. I sometimes let my fears get in the way of offending someone or saying something that they may not want to hear. But, as I also discovered today, love is not exactly tolerance. I can't just turn my head to the religious confusion in this world. I have to stand for truth.

David and I went to the flea market today.

    We bought luggage.

My luggage is orange. And beautiful.

I also bought tomatoes. They looked too good to pass by and I couldn't resist.

Then I took apart my old computer and did computer surgery. I was able to successfully dissect my old hard drive from this particular old computer... and so I've recovered even more old photographs. These photographs make me extremely happy... they involve a lot of my time in Russia.

Since my last computer died, David and I have learned that we always need to make copies of our photos... since David's computer also died and we lost our honeymoon pictures... But that's okay because I think I recovered a few today, as well.

Later in the day, I got to watch a movie with my parents.

And I had salad for dinner.

What a great, wonderful, relaxing day.

Edit*** And there were puppies at the flea market. Lots of them. And I, of course, had to see and hold all of them. David had to pry me away from there!

"God delights to increase the faith of his children. We ought, instead of wanting no trials before victory, no exercise for patience, to be willing to take them from God's hands as a means. Trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very food of faith."

  • Aquarium Collage

Someone wanted to see some of my Aquarium photos larger...so I recently uploaded them and discovered how to make photo collages. What fun!

We had a good, but tiring weekend. We had a yard sale.... and I must say that I don't want to have another one for a while...

We did good though, we sold a lot of old junk. We got to talk to lots of people... one guy looked like Santa Claus on vacation. He was wearing red shorts and a red hat. He had the big bowl-of-jelly belly and the white beard the curled around his little round face. It made us all smile. I think David caught him on camera...so we'll see if I can snag that photo from him.

We also got to see this old car that was in some old show or something. Everyone seemed really interested in it. They stopped from the highway just to get out and take photos of it.

Anyway, the weekend went by too quickly. Now it's back to work, once again.

I wish we could have another week of vacation!
