The Phantom of the Opera (2004 Movie Soundtrack)
Think Of Me

Yes, I finally got it.  The Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack.  Simply sublime.

Somewhat less sublime was obtaining it.

I had a gift certificate to Media Play for 20 bucks, so I headed over there to pick it up.  Along with it, I found the script for Pygmalion and My Fair Lady, which I had been looking for for over a year.  So I headed up to check out, and found out that the total was $21.34, $1.34 more than was on my gift card.

Having  already put all my cash into my gas tank, I only managed to come up with $1.01.  Seeing there was no one else in line, I asked the check-out girl if I could run really quick to my car to get 33 cents I lacked.  Dashing out to my car I began a desperate search for change.  In the glove box, under the seats, in the trunk.  I'm sure many an eyebrow was raised upon seeing a girl upturned and contorted, arm halfway into the French Fry Abyss that lies beneath every car seat.

In all I only produced another 25 cents.  Approaching the counter again, I laid my lint-coated collection of coins on the counter.  "I'm seven cents short."  I said half-desperately, hoping she might be able to help me out.  The woman blinked, expression unchanged.  I looked around.  No one seemed interested in spotting me the extra 7 cents.

In the final end I had to put the remainder on my credit card.  My credit card!  My "I'm-Lost-In-A-Third-World-Country-Without-Food-Or-Shelter" emergency credit card!  [grumbling]

If you didn't notice, I hate using my credit card.

I also spent a little while writing thank you cards at Caribou.  I got about five done before I became immensely distracted perfecting my new uppercase cursive B.  Those who know me well will know why a beautiful handwritten "B" is so vitally important for me to master.

On the Menu Tonight:
-Grilled Balsamic Lime Chicken
-Caesar Salad
-Baked Avocado Slices with Fresh Roma Tomatoes
-Toasted Wheat Artisan Bread

In The Very Near Blog Future:
-"A Slice of Americana To Go, Please!"
-Pictures from Cassie's graduation party, and the Reckless-Galavanting-That-Followed...

Cheers all!

the original Phantom soundtrack from 1986 is better... but it's more than probly what you paid for yours.

I want a caesar salad. But we're having fake chinese instead. Ah well.

You're right, that was rather un-sublime. *shudder* 33 cents on a credit card?!

I've never heard the 1986 version, but I personally prefer the Sarah Brightman one.  The new one is alright though.  Patrick Wilson's voice doesn't impress me *that* much...

Well, actually I ended up putting the whole $1.34 on there, but still....who puts $1.34 on a credit card?  For the love of all things good...

All those wicked people wouldn't give you seven cents, eh?  Terrible.  I would have been the first to offer a 12 month loan at 15%...

...I can't believe they're giving credit cards to 18 yr. old blondes...what is this world coming to?

Patrick Wilson's voice doesn't resonate extroardinarily well.  Not much character to it.

I want to see the picture of you frantically searching for pennies in the car...           Regards, ~JDM

Touché Jefferson.  Had you nearly been forced to sleep in a scudsy Guatemalan youth hostel, with mixed company, you would be very glad for your credit card too.  Ahem, Daddy's credit card rather...

Unfortunately I didn't bring my digital camera to the store.  I'm not sure that if I had brought it, I would have stopped to take a self-portrait...

lol !!! That is so funny and sad all at the same time...I question what the world is coming to but not because you have a credit card at the tender age of 18 , but rather that no person would help you out. Had I been there I would have gladly given you the 7 cents you needed with NO interest or payment plan!!!

Jefferson, watching a young lady (most likely in a skirt) flailing about in her car in a mad search for pennies does not sound very gentlemanly~!!! >/

Yes Mr. Scarlet Politician!  Where are you high society manners now, eh?

Sunny:  Thankfully I was not wearing a skirt!   I may have had to abandon ship earlier had that been the case.  Thank you very much though, had you only been there...  *sigh*
