Daniel has had a busy week! He has lost his first 2 teeth!! But....we never saw either one!! On the first tooth, he came in my bedroom and said, "Mom, one of my teeth is gone!" Of course, I didn't believe him......then he showed me his mouth and sure enough....one of this bottom teeth was missing. Of course, I then asked....where's your tooth?? He said...."Down the drain." He explained that it had come out while he was brushing his teeth.....so funny. He had to write a note to the tooth fairy so he'd get some money. Then....on Friday at school....his 2nd bottom tooth came out. I asked again, "Where is your tooth?" He very nicely told me, "in the sand on the playground." He never even realized it was gone until Megan said something........he's SO different from Megan. Megan would tell you step by step where her loose teeth stood.....she has one last little tooth that is about to come out and it's driving her CRAZY that Daniel has lost 2 and she can't get this last one to come out......it's quite funny actually.
I will post a few photos of Daniel at the end.......
I was VERY excited that we got thru both ballgames today with little to no rain. Daniel's game had some rain but they played thru it since it wasn't thundering or lightening.....yeah for that!! With games at Noon and 4 pm, we didn't get much else done today but it's Sat night racing so I'm enjoying the evening with NASCAR and the computer....just doesn't get better. Has anyone seen the new Wii Fit machine???? Sure is making me consider a Wii for my birthday.....might be worth the money for those rainy summer days with kiddos at home.....Bush might get his wish by sending me that extra money....I might just spend a bit of it! Most of it will go into the savings acct to prepare for one income. I officially turned in my notice last week!!! I'm SO excited but nervous at the same time........I'm already planning events for the summer that cost little or no money. Ross' company gave us Six Flags tickets again so we'll get to do that and we have free white water tickets from a rain out last year. I may have to recruit G-Daddy to help us as we are doing the Jr Ranger program thru the GA State Parks and it has some fishing and bird watching activities that we'll need help with! Are ya game???
We will also do the Summer Reading Program thru the library and we also plan on visiting all the cousins if they'll have us! And of course, Grandma plans on keeping each of them for a bit in June for Daniel and July for Megan. We also found out that the AMC theatres are doing their free weekday movies during the summer so we'll check out some of those....they try to get ya with the popcorn but I have many free coupons for popcorn if ya buy a drink!! Yeah! So......I'm trying to get ready! The PTA is also already gearing up for next year......I'm excited about being Vice President. We are going to try to replace and improve our existing playground. It's getting rather old and worn out.......it won't be an easy project!!
Well....here are a few pics of Mr D.....
The first missing tooth:

And now both teeth out:

A face only a mother could love!

OH yeah...and VBS at 2 diffrerent churches will keep us busy for 2 different weeks! I'm only helping with the one at our church so I'll get to enjoy some no kid time for the other one.

COME VISIT!!! We'd love it. :) Lynet told me she was going to come for a couple days this summer and bring a tent. :)
Free movies rock. One of our theaters here used to do it. We used to be the only people in the theater without snacks; then I'd take them to Hodgson's for 50 cent icecream-- Pretty good outing for $2! Yeah, that's when there were only 4 kids. Now the icecream is a dollar a cone. . .still cheaper than anywhere else.
Congrats on giving your two week notice! Sounds like you're planning some fun stuff for summer.
Oh yeah, and congrats to Daniel. Julia has her first loose tooth.
how funny. my little boy lost tooth #2 last night also. This time he had the tooth in his hand though. did you just decide to take some time off from work? I did that when my son was first born (6 years ago) I actually took a contingency leave of absense but, at the end of the year, did not return. I had a state job for almost 10 years...my retirement money is still in the retirement system, so, if I return to another state job I can at least pick up where I left off time wise. I was scared to death at the time. cutting our income over in half, but, i have no regrets now. have gotten used to being a no money family. good luck. sounds like you have found lots of entertainment for the kids this summer. those are adorable pictures.
@MommyofTomandElandJo - Hopefully I am finished for good. After 15 years with the State.....I've had enough. We also live in Clayton Co and with all that's going on.....I feel a strong need to be more involved and I can't do that with a full time job.....I'm very excited!! I also will leave my retirement in so I'll keep my years of service. I was vested after 10 years so all is good as far as that goes.
And then there is also some time for camping this summer....yeaaaaa.
