| The Birmingham reception was great! We had about 70 people there including alumni and prospective students. A big thank you goes out to Jan and her crew who put it all together! The food was great and the room looked awesome - Thank You! Belles and Beaux did their usual great job performing and I want to thank them and Chuck for coming down.

It was really nice to see so many people that I have spoken to on the phone. I got to see Fabiani, Lauren, David, Hannah, Jake, Stephanie, Brent, David, Caroline, Hillary, Molly, Keith, Jennifer, Katie, Elizabeth, Kristen, Collin (great job helping me with the door prizes!), Josh, Sarah, Taylor, Juliana and Ashley. Most of these students came from the Birmingham area but I appreciate the Teels coming from Montgomery and the Duartes coming from Huntsville. It was good to see all of you and I hope you'll come see us on campus soon!
Speaking of campus - our football team won this past weekend to end up with a winning season and our volleyball team will host the Gulf South Tournament this weekend at Rhodes Fieldhouse. The following is from www.hardingsports.com:
Lady Bisons Win Last Regular Season Match; Veitenheimer Honored 11.3.2005 | Volleyball
Synda Veitenheimer was recognized on Senior Night. |
SEARCY, Ark. – Harding’s last regular season match exhibited much of the same precision that the Lady Bisons have shown all year. The Lady Bisons’ only senior Synda Veitenheimer was honored with a gift from the team and a 3-0 win over Ouachita Baptist. Harding defeated the Lady Tigers with game scores of 30-16, 30-22 and 30-18. Head Coach Keith Giboney had his career-high 31st win as the Lady Bisons improved their record to 31-3 overall and 13-1 in the GSC
It's going to be alot of fun and hopefully our Lady Bisons will finish saturday night with their second GSC Championship! Stay tuned and I'll let you know.

| Harding Defense Shackles #9 Arkansas Tech in 27-10 Homecoming Win
HU Volleyball Clinches 4th Straight GSC West Title

Well, those two www.hardingsports.com headlines and the fact that "Beauty and the Beast" was amazing pretty much tell the tale of Homecoming Weekend! The weather was perfect, we had tons of guests here for Bison Daze and I believe everyone went home happy. (Except the Tech football team and UCA Sugar Bears!) Some of the BVF's (Bison Volleyball Fans) wore toga's to the game to cheer on the Lady Bisons (and intimidate the Sugar Bears)!

Saturday morning at Midnight Oil was fun. See the following pictures:

| Well, it has officially begun! The Bison Daze guests are coming in hot and heavy and the Homecoming guests are too. Parking is going to be non-existent tomorrow....oh well. I have already seen a bunch of kids from Atlanta and Orlando and expecting more from AL, MS and LA later tonight. We're hanging out in the Admissions Lobby playing Trouble and eating Pizza Pro thin pepperoni pizza - is there any better? (Thanks Chad!). For those of you who have never been to Bison Daze, you gotta come next time....I think it'll be in February '06. | | |
| I guess my middle name is "getting ready"! I'm "getting ready" for: Bison Daze/Homecoming, the President's reception in Atlanta, a visit to Greater Atlanta Christian School, a visit to Snellville church of Christ, a dessert reception in Birmingham, a youth rally, "OASIS", in Jacksonville, FL and many tours of campus in between all of that! Say a prayer for me that I'll get it all done.
Bison Daze is going to be great! I have 45 kids coming from FL, GA, AL, MS and LA! They will all be here on Thursday night and will have a wonderful experience on campus. Chapel, classes, Beauty and the Beast, Football game, Volleyball game, Midnight Oil and hanging out in the dorms with friends. I'm so glad they'll be here and look forward to having them at Harding!

I want to give a shout out to all the HU students who are willing to share their dorm rooms with our guests - THANK YOU!!! A BIG THANKS to Jess who is my right hand man, er..... woman! She did a great job helping get most of the housing set up for me. Jess, I couldn't do it without you!
Have a great one!
