Let's Get Together With Hayley Mills

Long Best Man Speech

Well, the brief visit to the old stomping grounds was great. We walked around campus (which was empty due to spring break) with Peter Wolff for about an hour and saw the new and improved Grace College.

Then we headed to hacienda (which was too rushed but still still delicious. Mudslide, anyone?)

And then we watched one of the men I respect most get married to a sweet girl (either that or she fooled us). Congratulations to Scott and Holly Borchelt, and it was sure good taking a trip down memory lane in good ol Winona.

Now if only I can get all my buds to move into our apartment complex here in Asheville, things would be swell.

And now I'm back at it. Today i am in Bristol TN, at a printing press, checking to see if they are getting the colors right on some stuff Alpha is having printed. So far so good.

Oh my Nona

Florida was awesome. Not that Toby reads this but if he does he'll be happy to hear that I was able to see Harry Connick Jr. in concert a week ago (given free tickets from a client), and it was surprisingly awesome.
But the big news is that I'm headed back to Winona Lake for my good friend Scotty B's wedding day. It'll be fun to see such a great guy get married, and it'll be fun to walk around the campus where Sarah and I met and have so many memories, and it'll be good to see some others that we love. We'll probably get into town around 12:30 and leave that night to head over to Sarah's parents house. Maybe I'll see you there!

Snowbird

Well, it's snow flurryin' outside and the wind is oh-so-cold, so I've decided to take Sarah to sunny Naples Fl. heck, we'll even throw in a convertible to drive around. Our plane leaves this afternoon. Its been too long since my toes have touched an ocean.

Hey, Whipple, Squeeze This: A Guide to Creating Great Ads, Second Edition

Warm up those thinkpipes.

So I work at an Ad agency.

And the way Ad agencies gain credibility and get the sexy factor is that they win awards. Now awards don't usually come from your main clients, those ads are to the point as always (albeit well made.)

But what wins awards are ideas. And I know you've all watched a little tv or looked through a magazine in your life and you've probably seen about a million ads or more. And I know you've hated some and loved others.

You've probably had an idea in the past and thought to yourself, "hey, that would make a good commercial." or "hey, they should put that on a billboard."

Well, I am asking for those ideas...make it clever, make it tug on heart strings, whatever, for whatever kind of company in whatever sort of medium. (example: Mini (cars) pasted little orange cones up the inside of all the urinals in thier dealership men's bathrooms, so that men could pee through the course as they did thier business.)

Let me hear 'em folks...
