  • Top Ten Things I love about dating a Nerd

    1. Nerds don't find it hard to be enthusiastic. Because they are used to channeling their energy and love into their own particular field of nerdhood, they are more than able to easily switch that passion to a new pursuit: me!

    2. Nerds are tech-savy. They can fix your computer, give you programs and cool websites they find for free, they can program your phone to have free ringtones, graphics, etc, they can figure out your camera or Tivo or anything that might be flashing 12:00.

    3. With a nerd, you are free to be yourself. Because they are used to being out of the norm, you don't have to act "cool" when with your nerd. It gives you a chance to explore your own nerdy potential!

    4. They won't make fun of your hobbies. Because they have weird hobbies themselves (like anime, "audio-visual" club, math club, chess club, building models, martial arts, playing D & D, whatever), they might even be willing to try out your hobbies WITH you! You do something weird like community theatre or dressing up for Renn faires? No problem! They'll be right there with you, decked out in costume!

    5. Nerds aren't afraid to be themselves. They aren't going to lie about who they are, or waste your time pretending or being on "best behavior." For the most part, what you see is what you get.

    6. Most nerds don't have a ton of emotional baggage. Because they haven't been out playing a dating game, they are not going to bring a bunch of heavy stuff into the relationship from past flames.

    7. You will always look beautiful to your nerd! Because nerds haven't been out dating alot, they will appreciate your beauty and be absolutely fascinated by everything about you. You'll notice this when you are putting on your mascara in the bathroom, making all kinds of hideous faces, and then notice your nerd standing in the doorway, gazing at you adoringly.

    8. Nerd's aren't fashion conscious. In girlfriend terms, this is like having your own dress-up Ken doll! It's like being 8 years old again, but with a real live grown up person! If you can get them away from the computer for an hour or two and have the extra money, you can totally redo their wardrobe in the style you like! The possibilities are endless! And because they know they are fashion unconscious, they will wear what you pick, and thank you for it!

    9. Nerds have nerd-friends. This means that there will probably be a place to send your man for some nerd-sitting, at least once a week. If you need some time alone without anime playing in the background, or you want the computer to yourself for 6 hours or so...your nerd is more than willing to go be with the boys. Also, this has the bonus of being "stupid man time" that all men need. Once they get time to be men with other men, they are ready to be attentive to your every need!

    10. Nerds are extremely loyal. Because they've had to be loyal to who they are for so long, and probably have had to be that way with their friends...they are perfectly able to be loyal to you. They aren't looking for their identity in you, because they've already found it. They will appreciate you so much for loving them for who they are, that once you've found a good one...he'll be around to stay.

I also love nerdy folk, Jane Austen books, and reading.

Our family, all seven of us, are headed out Jan. 9th to spend five months living in Cambridge. I'm excited, but not so keen about knowing what to pack and what should stay behind. I only get two suitcases per person.

If only all we nerdy guys were lucky enough to find a sweet girl like yourself to appreciate us, we would be very lucky indeed!

"Oh the weather outside is frightful.
but the fire is so delightful,
we've really no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!"

I’m leaving this on everybody’s sites just to let you know that I’m finally back.  I know it seems like I’ve said that a lot in this last few months due to all the things going on in my life and all the unavoidable breaks, and I have... but this time I have nothing on my plate…nothing in the foreseeable future!  So I’ve rebuilt both of my sites for this new year, I have written and new post and I’m coming around to catch up on your life and to say thank you for all of the thoughts, prayers, and comments over this last few months! Courtney On a personal note!  I lvoe this list, it's so great and I LOVE the red dress!!!! I mailed out a letter to you today so you should have it soon... I'm so sorry for the delay!  I've been thinking about you a lot hope all is well!
