  • I think I might take a Photoshop class at a community college this summer.  It would be continuing education, and only for 2 weeks in August, 4 times...for a total of 16 hours.  It costs 125 dollars, but I've always wanted to learn Photoshop.  I'm creative in "real" art...the kind you do with your hands, and I want to learn how to do digital art as well.  What do you guys think?  I guess I would have to procure a copy of Photoshop as well, huh?  Hmm...can't really afford that.  What should I do?

I've never been able to figure out photoshop. I would HAVE to take a class just to figure it out. It could be fun, however.

as a photoshop professional, I'd say that you could totally do it. Also, being a student, (for the summer, anyway), you should be able to get a student price on a copy of photoshop (and you probobly wouldn't need the full professional version anyway, so it would be cheaper). probobly about 150 buck or something like that. Haven't priced the student price on an essentials package, so that is complete conjecture.

Anyway, they are bound to have a computer lab, so you could always just go up there to work on your projects. You can't be the only one to have difficulty having access to photoshop.

If you learn Photoshop you will be able to figure out and use all the other cheaper software out there.  Everyone should know how to use Photoshop or one of the other graphic programs... it's so much fun to create digital art.  Please take a look at my art on my blog.  Most of it is abstract because that's what I'm obsessed with... Good luck..

You really enjoy taking pics so I think photoshop class would be a great idea for you.  Good luck with it if you decide to take it.   You are also very artistic in many ways, especially working with your hands and creating things.
