midnight caller

Last night I woke up from a sound sleep because my cat desided she needed some attention.  That or she was sounding a warning for everyone that she was coming threw with important business.
Important business came rushing in my room before I knew it fallowed by the cat.  Important business wasn't dead yet!
My barefeet jumped back up in bed and watched the show.
Are mice just not smart enough to stay under furniture where cats can't get them?  This mouse had ample opportunity to get away by just staying underneath a desk or dresser but it kept darting around the room.  It went under my bed twice (which made me squirm!!!).  And the cat was so fast she managed to head it off both times.  I wondered if this show was going to last all nice when suddenly she had it in her mouth and was toating it off into the living room to play more quietly.
So in a way I'm sure her meowing was warning me not to put my feet on the floor (which I wasn't smart enough to know because I don't speak cat).
I thought it safe enough to put my shoes on and head to the bathroom.  I peaked into the living room to see what was going on but saw nothing and heard nothing.  I woke up this morning with a corpse.
I don't live in a dirty house although I dislike cleaning.  We don't leave food out everywhere.  But maybe we should start investing in some plastic containers for things like cereal boxes and whatever it in the cabinet in it's orginal containers?  I'm tired of seeing little dead mouse on my feets path.

You don't 'speak' cat?!?  We've had mice, geckos...in houses we've moved into, but we have good feline house cleaners!  They don't kill anything I feed so I don't put 'mouse chow' out.  We used to have chipmunks in this house, but Sam got rid of them the first time we lived here, then Panda made sure they didn't come back.  You would think the mouse would 'freeze' though.

Mice are very small minded hence the running around like a maniac when a cat chases them instead of hunkering in a corner somewhere (hiding). You don't have to keep a dirty house to still have little pests. Unfortunately they come on their own free will when they want, not necessarily because you leave food around. Kitties are good to have in such a case though. And when you have little mice corpses at your feet it is because your kittie is saying "mommie... look what I did... I got you a present!" Even though it is kinda disgusting present nonetheless still a present in the mind of a cat... means they did good for you not to be scared anymore, that they took care of the problem! =)

I love animals personally. My favorite is a horse but I can't have one here. So next in line is a cat then dog. I also like the weird animals and reptiles too. Snakes, mice, lizards, monkeys.... I would have gotten a monkey once but it is like a big process to get them legal and have a license for them. *sigh* So I just dropped it.

Well, have a good day my friend!

I remember once a mouse came in my room. When I woke-up hearing some noise, I saw he is there on my bed, in-front of eyes. I couldn't sleep that night and for the following three nights. It was horrible experience. That time I was thinking to keep cat! Hope you are doing fine.

Wish You a Very Happy Birthday! So, whts the plan for the birthday?

Take care! Lots of Love

LOL - "I don't speak cat" -- too funny!!! We used to get mice all the time in HI, although we had a very clean house. It had more to do with what was going on around our house in the nearby fields - when they burned the sugar fields we always got a lot of mice coming in!

I don't speak cat either, so I just make it up as I go along.
*meow*
"You ate what?"
*meow*
"You ate a squirrel?!"
*meow*
"A squirrel is half your size, I don't believe you."

I know I'd freak if I saw that mouse! Although bugs and other stuff is a reason I don't ever walk around the house barefoot.

I think that in their state of panic, mice just forget to think. For that matter nearly all hunted critters.
Ours got a little ground squirrel last year and tortured the poor thing. Finally felt so sorry for it, that the kids and I picked Babie (our cat) up and put him inside.
Soon as let him back out, he went to the last place had seen it at and started in looking.
