06.27.07 – Day Eight: The Last Day of VBS, Mosoj Yan Again, and Meetings with Florida Norte

Time: So late it would scare you, Thursday, June 28 – Well, I guess I am really making up for lost time, as I have written a lot over the last few days. But the schedule and the unscheduled events have just worked out that way. There have been few chances to blog and often people have needed that time to decompress.

I think that our team found the wall today. We finished VBS, we visited Mosoj Yan again, five of us met with the elders and VBS team of Florida Norte, we had a late dinner, and we had a little party/hang-out time with Pastor Juan and some of the youth of Florida Norte. It was a very busy and emotional day following an extremely emotional day yesterday. We are tired and emotionally and spiritually drained – your prayers are needed as much as ever.

And yet, within all the fatigue is an amazingly durable and lasting peace and strength. God has been working in remarkable and amazing ways. The meeting with the leaders of Florida Norte was incredibly encouraging in the unity and love that can only be truly experienced in the family of God. The last day of VBS, while difficult to leave, was an amazing chance to celebrate the more than 130 children that heard the truth of Christ’s love for them. And, as usual, our team had some great chances to share our love for Christ and for one another.

So, I write on behalf of a tired and weary team of hopeful and committed people. Pray for us to have the strength to complete the task before us – to see it through to the completion that can only be found in the strength of Christ. And thank you for all of your continued support. It is not only felt and appreciated, but it is central to what we are accomplishing here, in our own lives and in the lives of others. Our God is bigger than any fatigue that we may face, and we have seen more examples of this in the last few days than I can count.
