Roller Coaster Ride

It's a well known fact among my family and friends that I do not like roller coasters. I would never be able to be an astronaut; I used to get car sick in the back seat of my parent's Galaxy 500.

Although it hasn't had the same physical impacts -- blood rushing to my head (or to my feet) and other solutions in my body trying to move in directions other than they were intended -- the ride I've been on the last few months has been a lot like a roller coaster. There are some high points, but it seems there have been a lot of wicked twists and gut-wrenching drops. Also, like a roller coaster, stopping and getting off before the ride is over is not a realistic option.

Unfortunately, a roller coaster ride is usually over in a few minutes; this ride has been going on for a while. There are some days when I just want the ride to stop. I believe however, that there's a purpose in what I'm doing and if I finish the ride better things lie ahead and I will have accomplished something -- hopefully something worthwhile and pleasing to God. It is my intention to continue to strain toward what is ahead. (http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?search=Philippians%203:13-14;&version=31;) What it takes to do that must come from God.

Hmm...
So, I want you to know that as hard as the coffee shop and everything has been on you and the family, it has meant a lot to me. It's weird how much a coffee shop really affected me, but it did. I met people more amazing than anyone i've known and as dorky as it sounds, learned about and worked with things I really care about. I still talk about it all the time up here...it's kind of funny. Anyways, I just wanted you to know that I'm so very very glad that God put me working for you this spring/summer, and the coffee shop improved my life by about 100 times over those few months (not that I wasn't happy before; I just so improved by working there). I had so much fun and it made my summer a million times better than it would have been otherwise. Hopefully, if you need me, if there's room, it can make next summer (and this winter?) just as great. Have a great day and I will see you in a few weeks.
