  • Time out

    A little break from TY and UCLA.

    You know, I decided not to teach this summer. I could always use the money--especially with a 26 year-old step-son who still can't figure out what to do with his life, so he quits his job, moves out of his current living arrangement and comes from Japan for some R & R. When he returns in September he will be jobless and homeless. I'm waiting for him to ask me for a hand, but he probably won't ask. He'll probably wait for mommy to ask for him....

    As I said, I could have used the extra cash, but a colleague of mine needs money more than me, so I decided to let her have the gig, and focus on my research. Getting a book out or even an article in a academic journal could lead to a raise. So this should be just as good... but I think I've already wasted all of June. WTF am I doing?!?

    Can you tell me to get my butt in gear? Like give me a swift kick in the ass? I can take it... Right here----->

    Now that you mention it, I've been feeling a little useless too. No matter how many times I try to get my "to-do" list for summer done, I can never stay focused long enough to finish on one thing. Write about my trip to Japan, read Haruki Murakami's Wind-up Bird Chronicle, get my license... I haven't done any of these and June is already ending! D: Oh woe!

    I am thoroughly enjoying the flashbacks. Get back to work.  I will try to do the same.

    Yeah, thanks to summer pay, I do get paid, but it's not much.  At least I automatically get a raise every year I work.

    Enjoy the summer, or at least allocate some time to work and play, or do what you normally do and procrastinate until the final deadline and THEN do it. That's how I do it. :)

    I've been watchign 69 though illegal means. xD Does it matter to you how you watch the movie? For the one I'm watching, the quality isn't great and there are subs that you can't get rid of, but at least the movie is viewable.

    (Annnnnd MASANOBU Ando is in it. D: And TSUMABUKI Satoshi. D: Oi, I'm a fangirl already!)

    everyone says to get in gear, so... I say do nothing for once. people can use breaks. it's good for you.
    if you're inspired or compelled to do something, then you do it.
    like me... took the day off the first day of the fiscal year. why? because I can, damn it!!
    people at work are SO hating me today, I swear...
