  • Full Disclosure: What do I really look like?
While I've been milking the Jackie Chan look-alike angle--how pathetic--I should tell you that I currently do not look anything like him. The photo that I previously displayed is about 7 years old, a time when I worked out four days a week, 4 hours at a time, including aerobics, dance and weight lifting. Currently, I run, maybe, twice a week, 30-40 minutes, and lift weights once a week. My exercise regimen has declined mostly because of work, but even more recently because of XANGA! But this is not a very good excuse. Musubi-chan always reminds me that I should not blame others for something I have direct control over... So true. In any case, what ever the reason, I have gained weight at an alarming pace and I truly resemble my Xanga moniker, Onigiriman.

But the triangular rice ball above is not some figment of my imagination, it is a self portrait. Further, it is not a portrait created to reflect my current condition. I first drew this thing over ten years ago after looking at this photo of myself. Yes, that's me in pink frames on my Japanese alien registration card, ca. 1992. I'm not sure if you can tell, but I had to squeeze my shirt collar closed with the necktie since the buton would not longer reach... Prior to going to Japan, I had gained a significant amount of weight, and was hovering around 170 lbs. This is a lot given that I didn't exercise at all back then. Every ounce of bulk had a fat to muscle ratio of about 5 to 1. But enough of this disgusting fat talk. It's so embarrassing, I don't even know why I talk about it... Oh, yeah, its about me... hahahaha.

Anyway, back to the original thought: I looked at this photo and though, "Damn, that looks like an onigiri (riceball) with glasses." And I proceeded to draw my first crude Onigirman, which looked something like this dude on the right. Do you see the resemblance? Well, as you can tell, the rice ball has evolved (devolved?) quite a bit. In any event, I am fast approaching my former self, and seriously need to get back into training. So, farewell my fellow Xangans. I shall return when I am once again my svelte little self...

Take a look at yourself in the mirror and use your imagination. What food product do you most resemble?
PostScript: Oh yeah! Thanks for correcting my spelling, Hanzo! (my first Onigiriman emoticon, omanicon for short, hahahahah. Yeah like I'm REALLY busy...)

i've been told, when I was growing up, that I look like a stick...but that's not edible unless you're really really stupid. When you come back, more muscle pictures!

At least you don't look like a monkey =/....

BTW, this is really random but what are your thoughts on living up to your parent's expectations?  This is what has been roaming around in my mind for the past few days.

I dont know if I look any kind of food. Im probably gonna start to look like grilled teriyaki chicken because I eat it so much.

Man, ur not fooling anyone. I've seen onigiriman in the flesh, and he is in fact a ball of rice. He has this intimidating-looking guy stand in for him during lectures and office hours and stuff, but onigiriman is always in the backround, feeding lines to his stand-in.

    It is diabolical...

    I hope I don't look like a food product.

First time to your site for me.  I cannot think of a food product, maybe I am more of an ingredient, I might be malted barley or something like sourgum.  I like your site, humor.  Well written.  I have been looking all day for sites that I could read and was glad to find yours.

RE: "appropriately so" comment on my page. #1) I meant that for myself that it was appropriately brought up... but on second thought #2) You're a drinker... it's appropriate. yeah. uh huh. that's right. I'm going to bag on my senpai.

Regardless, I'll try the actually moving my body for more than going to my car. We'll see how that works! ^_^ And no, we don't sleep any more. It's sin these days. :p

Man, I'm packing on the pounds too.  Up about 10 since graduation I'd say, and the muscle/fat ratio sucks.   Still, I'm far from my high of 175 when I started sophomore year... I put on a freshman 25, not 15!
  • Omega01
I'm not as muscular as I'd like to be. There are guys that weigh the same as myself, but look a lot thinner...I'll show them.

Hey, you might try lifting weights while at the computer! That way you don't lose anything! Just lift with your left hand while browsing, then once you've found a good bit to read, swap hands. Take breaks when you want to type up your segment, or a comment, then back to work! And I'm sure you can come up with some crazy leg exercise while you're at it. Or perhaps I should make one up and sell it on infomercials? Yeeeeessss.... >:D

As far as looking like food...I'll get back to you on that.
