  • I'm hungry...

But it's 4 AM and if I ate anything right now, it would go straight to my waist. I've been hovering around the 160 lbs. mark for the past three weekends. M--bless her heart--bought four (4) bags of Doritos last weekend: BBQ Cheddar, Fiery Habanero, Buffalo and Cool Ranch. Okay, actually, I told her that since I lost weight, it would be a nice reward to eat some Doritos while I watched the UCLA game. But four bags? I've been munching all week, a little at a time.

Of course, it's not her fault that I have no... self... control... Ugh. I need someone to tape my mouth shut. Where is Sister Angela Maureen when you need her?

Those actually sound really good right about now.

    BUT I SHOULDN'T!

You're not the only one without self control! While I was doing my chemistry homework, I ended up eating 10 fruity hard candies, drinking two cups of Kool-Aid, and then eating 4 slices of pizza. D:

I tried eating some edamame and oranges to "balance" it out, but I don't think it's working.

The myth is that if you eat after 8 pm that you would gain weight. In reality, if you eat you should stay awake 1-2 hours after. This allows your metabolism to digest the food at a normal rate then the slow crawl it goes into when you sleep. So, you CAN eat at 4am in the morning, you just have to go to bed at 6am. :) That or you might be really thirsty. The brain gets the signals confused. The best advice I ever got was when I was hungry to drink a glass to water and wait 10-20 minutes to see if it was a thirsty signal or a hungry signal. Either way, I empathize. I hate being hungry at 2 am.

    ryc: thanks for your input!

i love doritos! i always buy them when i am working in the library until 10 pm. but the bigger problem i have now is kettle chips. i bought a huge bag from costco for $4 because it was so much cheaper than outside! but now we have to eat it all...

i eat popcorn before bed. yeah, or edamame. i figure those are not as bad maybe...

i hate doritos!!! they make your fingers sticky and odd colors and they make your breath smell like dog breath- no matter how much you brush right afterwards!

ryc: i'm not sure exactly what is going on, but i expect that everyone is chasing the yen right now. but it's not just japan that korean bands want to conquer... it's china too. there is a huge love affair going on w/korea on the part of japanese women currently and you can make millions if you're successful there (re: ryu si won). korea is marketing tours to the japanese audience as well. the korean band machine is making sure that their trainees are learning japanese and chinese (why not english? by the time they need that... it's too late). they even hired a trainee from china for super junior (i think) in hopes to conquer that market- but the anti's are attacking him in a major way. no one turns out dancers like the south korean music machine, but for style and substance- you have to look at japan. (even japan is branching out now what with johnny's opening a branch in thailand and taking on taiwanese superstar jerry yan as their next project.)

taiwanese groups are doing the same thing as korean groups so i suspect that in a year or two, the only way you will be able to tell them apart is the language or the lack of fluidness in the language. vanness wu sold out three concerts in japan this summer and i know countless women went to all 3 shows! however, japan still tends to be ahead of everyone else with what's hot and upcoming. they will most likely maintain their edginess in a market that is chasing them. (unless of course, korea does hire americans like they are trying to do right now and actually manages to start turning them out as performers with an american taste/sound that appeals to the asian market. that's what i'm currently watching. smtown held auditions this summer all over the states with the theory that they could teach anyone korean, but they can't teach anyone the urban american hiphop r&b style and sound.) hmmm... now tell me what i'm supposed to do with all this odd knowledge i'm acquiring! *shakes head at self*

You can be like me and basically get a stomach ulcer and lose about 7-8 pounds in a week. =P But I know what you mean about late night-cravings. I've been thinking I should just buy some celery and force myself to eat that late at night.
