My absence was caused by a sudden reverse of fortune.... I am happy again, but still in need of attention
I worked hard today, and
got... alot done for a Monday, I actually surprised myself.
MY brain is alive but my body is in a heap. I witnessed the
most viral network today. I counted at least 140 instances of
virus infection. On three machines, the usual shite.
But I earned my money today, it was far from easy.
This new working day is going to suit me down to a T.
Tonight, a pleasant visit from Mr. Doyle... he was in good form
and sunned to bits, lucky Bistard was in Jamaica for the
past week
In Dublin´s fair city, where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
She wheeled her wheel-barrow through the streets broad and narrow
Crying "Cockles and mussles alive, alive-o"
C
She was a fischmonger, and sure it was no wonder
For so were her father and mother before
And they both wheeled their barrow, through streets broad and narrow
Crying "Cockles and mussles alive, alive-o"
C
She died of a favour and sure no one could save her
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone
And her ghost wheels her barrow through streets broad and narrow
Crying "Cockles and mussles alive, alive-o"
CHORUS :
Alive, alive-o, alive, alive-o
Crying "Cockles and mussles alive, alive-o"
The Name “Molly Malone”
Many bars around the world are named after "Sweet Molly Malone",
she was a fishmonger’s daughter who died of typhoid. Some
believe she really did exist while others argue that she was just
a legend of old Dublin.
As well as being known and sung internationally, the popular song
"Cockles and Mussels" has become a sort of unofficial
anthem of Dublin city. The songs tragic heroine and her barrow have
come to stand as one of the most familiar symbols of the capital.
Incidentally, Dear Molly was renowned for more than err cockles and muscles.... she was a prominent hooker too
