  • An old man once said that to me :

"If the crows nest high in the trees  it'll be a good summer."

I've noticed the nests high in the trees this year... so I guess we'll see if he was right.

    Stupid fact about Ireland #131

When driving around I've noticed alot of the trees are being smothered by creepers...  has this always been the way?  or did people in the past take more care of the trees?  Does it even bother the tree?

Note the ribbon flapping in the wind on the bonnet.

its a shame they aren't used more

Today finds me in good form,  although very busy... but there's a clear path.  My only plan right now is to go camping soon...

    I digress,

Religion is a topic I don't tend to talk about , purely cause I know some people get terribly bothered about. but today I just saw something that allows me ability to express some feeling.  I saw two people trying to introduce strangers on the street to God. Honestly...  you know, I just get a bit depressed .... cause they're following their own idea,  and they think other people are not entitled to their own idea.   I understand it,  its how they feel,  maybe they feel its their job to do this,  to prove to god (or other believers) that they're good,  that their doing their bit..

I wouldn't think god needs proof..    Some would say there is a need for this in society,  for preachers,  but I think civilisation has come a long way,  there are other methods to teach right from wrong.. . civilisation has alot more to do.  But there is not such a dire need for direction out there.  Maybe not in my eyes.  I cannot help but feel they do this for personal reasons.  A need or cause to be different.

    Enthusiasm can be off putting...

I have just a conflict of Idea with these street convertors,  I bear them no malice... they're just following their heart,  who am I to judge.

    Not yet...

now if I told you that these preachers were Jewish people claiming they believed in Jesus...  Jewish people don't believe Jesus was the son of god.  They believe Jesus was a fatherless child.   does that make a difference?

I tried super hard to clean my desk, but just not enough hours in the day. i'll definitely get around to it tomorrow. I'm off on Friday/Monday, so I'll definitely need to get things in order by then..... thx for the suggestion! I love the religious conversation with yourself. I believe that religion is a journey we must all take on our own. God is someone to everyone. I've heard even aethiests (sp?) say, "Oh God!" in moments of fear/grief. It's interesting how that happens. Always love the photos!

I love what you did to the first picture and I like your family picture and the doggy picture in your last post!

As for religion, some people, Jehovah Witnesses for example are "witnessing" because their beliefs are that they need to do that to get to heaven.  Whereas, in Christianity you are saved by grace alone.

I would say that some are probably doing it to feel good but others are just doing it because they really do care and believe it is important for people to learn about Christianity.  It happens all the time, where someone is having a really rough time and then someone approaches them about God and it really does make a difference in their lives.

I started my church last year and just love it.  It is non-denominational Christian.  The night before I finally got a friend of mine to come with me, she had told me that she didn't understand the story of The Holy Ghost descending on Jesus.  The next morning she went to church with me and the pastor told everyone to open their Bibles to exactly that story.  We were floored.

Anyways, I know my comment is biased towards Christianity, but I believe it is the only way!

Have a great day and keep posting the pictures!

I have a great friend that recently found God and has decided her life's mission is to introuduce other people to what she's found, I've told her before that if I wanted to know about her faith -I'd ask her, but since I didn't I don't. She says that part of being a good christian is to "witness" to others. I personally think that if you "witness" to those who do not wish to hear it- then you're going to lose the friends you have.

your humor reminds me of conan o'briens. and i totally agree with the preachers thing. i never really sat down to think about what i feel about preachers to come up with a conclusion about them like you did, but reading your analysis of them pretty much sums up what i think about them. i think the faith should come from ones heart and i personally like to keep my beliefs to myself as i dont want to be mocked nor do i want people to steal my beliefs from me, so to speak, you know? if i feel i have god in my heart, im kinda selfish and dont want anybody to steal my god from me. so basically, i could never be a preacher. and i also think the preachers can never achieve much either, as i already said, it has to come from inside. you cant just stuff a faith into somebody. oh and i dont like discussing faith either.

anyhow, i wanted to get back to your perfect life. you have a perfect wife already. thats the least i want, to have a happy marriage. of course theres always more you need, or think you need.

I'm not going to say anything about religion. I just wanted to say that I always stop by to look at your pictures. They always brighten any damp mood I may be in, or one that someone has placed upon me.

I tend to not talk about religion either, mostly because I do not know enough about other religions to argue against them, if need be. I am happy as a christian.

you'd think that the nests would be higher because of a colder summer, as thought they'd try to get closer to the sun to keep warm! But I'm glad that the summer will be nice!

    *hugs*

    is it the weekend yet?

    Beautiful photos.

    I'm tired of saying that.

    Well, not really.

God is an individual experience. I think we should keep him to ourselves.

    But that's just me.

    Glad you're in good form!

I love the photos. Man i wish that i was that good. You can't be almost 30, you look like your 23-25. Man Irish men age slowly.
Well, i had a good birthday. Things came up, a lot of things came up and throw me for a loop. And things are getting harder. I can't wait to go to college. at least that way i can get away from this high school and meet other people. And things just might get worse, but heck i never know they may get better. We start testing next week and man we have one 90 min test and that is it. YES!!!

I think that high school drama can kill just about any one that is not ready for it. I think that we all need to be ready for what we may face out in the real world and heck even in high school.

Well hope that things are going well.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Jen
