San Diego
Going to sleep last night was easy, especially since the room was turned around. Mrs H, in her great wisdom (and personal strength) moved the bed to the opposite wall. Ever since we've had it, its been in the same place.. and its never felt right, for me anyway. Waking this morning was simply perfect, perhaps its the change that makes things easier.
I had a few phone calls, and one from my sister... she pondered the thought of my other sisters up coming birthday... she's to be 40 on saturday. As we spoke I looked happily at the birthday card mrs H had left out for me, along with two stamps... had she been able, she would have addressed it and written a message, she knows I wouldn't do it myself, not that I don't care. I'm just scarred.
Anyway, the conversation led from one thing to another, and now 8 hours later I am booked on a flight to San Diego to see my dear sister and wish her a happy birthday in person. I have at least saved myself the stamps on the card.
It just about fits into a busy schedule...

Ah, I love San Diego. I wish I were going. The weather is better there.

Have a safe trip!!
That's awesome! Have fun in San Diego!
How sad to think you'll be but 3-1/2 hours away - so close and yet so far. Hope we get to meet on some future trip! Enjoy the nice weather we're having at the moment, and a very happy 40th to your sister! It occurs to me she's lucky to have a brother who will jet halfway across the world to be with her on her birthday!
@john9ten - she would do the same - and I owe her big time, as I missed going out to her last year due to work
@OwenHiggins - Great that you two are so close. It is good to hear about a family that isn't divided by greed like mine.
@john9ten - some are just more divided than others
@OwenHiggins - The good thing that came out of my family division is that I got close to some cousins I hadn't seen in years.
