Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Meth Addiction
By David Sheff
see relatedMy guys have been here for various lengths of time since last Friday, and it's been fun to have them all together. Playing cards, talking, eating together, and catching up on all their lives is the food that a mother lives on when so many miles separate us. My soldier son swings between encouraged and discouraged about what he sees in Iraq, but he enjoys his assignment and getting to know the people he is protecting. I'm glad to know that not much of the extreme violence in the country is active in his part. I've been busy making their favorite meals and and keeping the dishwasher going.
I sure appreciate all the friendliness and gratitude people express to my soldier son and even to me when they find out he is serving. Whatever your view of what is going on in the Middle East, I hope that all of you will reach out to every soldier you see and encourage them in some way. It means so much!

So glad to hear things have been going so well. It's great to see our kids as they move further and further geographically from hearth and home.
Later.
I forgot--PICTURES! Are there any pictures of these handsome guys together?
@susankaye - I can't believe it, but we forgot to take pictures! ARRGGGGHHH!
Oh, wow. Forgive my gushing, but I was just amazed to find out you have a Xanga blog. I've been Xanga-ing for several years now. I just love your books. Will you be adding to the Fitzwilliam series? I love that novella that you've posted. Wow! I can't wait to see what else you post in the future.
And yay for having your whole family together!
@meggie84 - I hope to! I'm working on the first of a little novella series about Darcy's boyhood, beginning at age 13, and then on to another novel about our favorite set of characters. Don't know whether it will be part of the Fitzwilliam series or an entirely new one. To see what's going on with Young Master Darcy, click here: www.wytherngatepress.com
