  • Common Attacks Against Reformed Theology

    Recommended:

    Hell's Best Kept Secret

Why do 80-90% of those making a decision for Christ fall away from the faith? What is the principle that Spurgeon, Wesley, Whitefield, etc., used to reach the lost? Why has the Church neglected it? Don't let anything stop you from listening to this incredible teaching.

We encourage you to print off these free study sheets you can fill out while listening to the message.

    True and False Conversion
This teaching is foundational, and goes hand in hand with Hell's Best Kept Secret. It is very important that you understand it, as it will have great bearing on how you spend your time, and how you share the principles of God's Word. If you have ever wondered why so much of the Church looks and acts just like the world, you will love this teaching.

Below is an excellent 12 part series by Dr James White on common misconception against Reformed theology.

I've been busy lately finishing up my last assignment for my degree so I will not be posting anything for 2 weeks. This would probably take you more then that to listen though. Take time to go through them. They are really good.

Thanks to Lane Chaplin for these sermons.

  • How do you like that James White? :)

that is cool. I did not know that they have a thing link like that. What do you think about the debate he is having with Steve Greg?
  • Today's straits times (apr10) Home section page 3.
NUS SCIENtists make evolutionary history with discovery of world's known lungless frog. So is this frog created or evolved? If God say creation was good how come got frog no lung?
    *Confused*
  • Frog lost its function. I actually forwarded this article to Creation Ministries before strait times reported it. A lost is opposite of a gain... which is expected of evolutionary theory. Creation Ministries have since published the article on it.

  • On the frog, also notice that it has nostrils. Therefore it is evidence that it had a lung and subsequently, lost that function. It is not that the frog had no lungs and then evolved lungs. Reason being that it is illogical to develop nostrils when there is no lung function for it. It goes against evolutionary theory. The evidence is strongly in support of the frog specie losing its lungs sometimes back. De-evolving, not evolving. Opposition of what is required for goo-to-you-via-the-zoo type of evolution but completely consistent with creation theory.
  • How does one explain the Star of Bethlehem? Was a a supernatural one-off phenomenon or was it as some theologians have suggested, that it was a 12 BC appearance of Halley's Comet?

  • Also, why does the Bible seem to talk of a geocentric universe when in reality the universe is a heliocentric one? (see verses Psalms 93:1 and 104:5 and also Ecc 1:5)

  • Dearjoshua,

Star of Bethlehem is supernatural, not a literal star. Firstly the star rose and  went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. Therefore it cannot be a normal start. Second, the star went before the Magi, and led them from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. This is a distance of about six miles, in a direction from north to south. However, not only does every natural object in the sky move from east to west due to the Earth’s rotation, but it is difficult to imagine how a natural light could lead the way to a particular house.

12 BC is far too early anyway. There are no astronomical phenomena at the time of Jesus' birth... though this is popularized by Hugh Ross and a few others.

It was a temporary and supernatural light.

The bible never said that the earth is in the center of the universe. It often use the earth as a central point of reference, but that is normal in everyday speech. We also say that the sun rises from the East and sets in the west.

Anyway, recent research does indicate that the galaxy we are in is near the center of the universe. Not the earth being at the center, but the galaxy we are in being near the center. So I hold to a galato-centric view.

    The verses are answered here.
