| | Warning! For all who have conceived an antipathy to ramblings, this post is going to meander everywhere....and nowhere.
There are times when I think I'm inaudible and incomprehensible. There are times when I wish I was inaudible. There are many times when Joe tells me that I'm blithering again. This seems to be one of those times. We're back in Memphis, the only South state that boasts polar bears (or ought to, at any rate! But then, I've not been to very many states...) The White Witch holds full sway here, but fortunately, we had a pass to a warmer place where we celebrated Christmas. Take that, Jadis! We can see our breath, and Mama predicts a freeze tonight. Oh for the woods I rambled barefooted! What with all the dragonflies, one can wander at will through the woods, keeping an eye out for thorns, and not bothering about mosquitos!
Last time we were here, we went to the mall for shoes. As we were headed there, Sam put his little head down, and his heels flew up in a somersault! What won't they do..... Molly has come to the most gratifying conclusion that it is absolutely impossible to go to bed without bidding me goodnight. Poor kid. She was playing Eye Spy, and I asked her, "What would you do if I cut off your fingers with my nails?" Whereupon that singularly astute child replied calmly, "I'd go see a doctor!"
We went to the Library today. I got another book by P.C. Wren, that most estimable gent. I also got two Scarlet Pimpernel books by Baroness Orczy: Way of the Scarlet Pimpernel, and Triumph of the S. P. (I abbreviated it....) I'm presently immersed in The Uniform of Glory. Tim, this book is outrageous! Well, it's 10:42.....Adieu!
