Things I have learned

From cooking: It doesn't make very much difference if you put a little too much salt into muffins. It is very important to beat cakes for a while before you bake them, unlike brownies or cookies. If you don't put enough baking powder into English Tea muffins, it doesn't affect the taste. However, the topping ends up sinking into the middle of the muffin, instead of staying on top. It makes a lot of difference if you mix up the amount of seasoning you're supposed to put into spaghetti. You'd better not try to stick all of the topping onto a loaf of stromboli. The dough starts getting holes in it.
From writing: Using long words usually ends up sounding kind of stupid. Older brothers make excellent co-authors. There are only so many trials you can put your hero through. It works better if you reread a story before writing a sequel. There is nothing wrong with verb-adverb combinations, no matter what the English book says.
From sewing: Gathers are very hard. Sewing in the ditch doesn't mean you're in trouble. It is very important to put the presser foot down before you sew. Hand sewing can be very difficult. Sissa isn't wild about green.

My child, you have mastered all you need to know to live a long and happy life. "Having food and raiment [editor: and books] let us therewith be content." "When you come, bring the parchment...but especially the books. And the sphaghetti."

I am glad I am not the only one who is still learning things like this the difficult way! haha I shall keep your tip in mind for english muffins, I have never made them.  Yes, I agree gathers can be difficult, but they are beautiful once finished and really, once you get the hang of it, they aren't quite as troublesome. Hope all is going well at the Roy house! Hope to see you soon:)

Ok....so I deleted that part of the post. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was "Eating worms " as my wife calls it. Simply that it wouldn't be THAT big of a loss to the Xanga world, me not getting on as much. So that part of the post has been deleted. Wouldn't want folks to take so sort of pity on me.:p I'll still be around, just not surfing as much. I need to get a balance with my time I spend, and excercise I have discovered is something I need to focus on as I'm getting OLD and DECREPED  can't even run anymore...sheesh  Anyway, I'll check in every now and then, I just prolly won't comment so much anymore...at least not til I get a better schedule in order. :wha: Have a great weekend...just about warm enough to try out that pool ah! TTYL
