| | For the past five years I have railed so hard against cell phones and their users. Today, I have become the ultimate hypocrite. But I will resolve to not have my cell phone ring (and talk on it!) at church (seen it happen), in a classroom (seen it happen, and in one case even the professor), or in a movie theater (who hasn't seen that one).
My parents are in town. We just had dinner at Underwood's. It was great!
I'm in their hotel room right now and watching FoxNews. Because I don't have TV where I live (and that's a good thing), I must say I have been very ignorant of just how grim the situation is in New Orleans. The response is so large that all four military branches have been called up to help out. My former church is Houston may be providing shelter to refugees. www.sagemontchurch.org
I need to get my mom a birthday gift. I got her a movie, I may return it and get her another one which I discovered she likes a lot.
So long as I'm subject-jumping, AWANA starts up again in a week and a half. I'm almost ready.
I've finished the seventh book in A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS by Lemony Snicket. It was entitled THE VILE VILLAGE. I really enjoyed that one and am eager to read the eighth book THE HOSTILE HOSPITAL.
Wendy's opened the other day. Jerome and I went on opening night. Needless to say it was packed. But the food was good. I had the spicy fried chicken fillet sandwich, small root beer, and the $.99 deluxe cheeseburger for Jerome. $7.00. A quarter tank of gas. So, it's back to eating at home again for awhile.
And that's all I have for now. |
