A true rogue he is, seriously attractive (saw a photo) and charming (according to reports).
Honestly, it's good to know there are still some French rogues out there. Ah, how I long for the days of
Jean Lafitte pirate, privateer, bailer of Andrew Jackson's butt in the Battle of New Orleans (1815, War of 1812). Of course, I owe many fond summers of digging for Napoleon's treasure on the Bolivar peninsula (near Galveston Island) good times, good times. Never did find, but I haven't given up hope.
Lafitte, should not be confused with the
marquis de La Fayette (Gilbert du Motier*) without whom the War of Independence (Revolutionary War if you are on the
other side of the Atlantic Ocean from the Americas) in the British colonies of what would later be the United States would have been significantly more difficult to win, if not impossible, for the colonists.
These two men are part of the reason I get so annoyed at the people who slam France as not being an ally these days. I don't agree with friends on everything, yet, we are still friends. Why should it be any different with countries?
*He and his descendants were granted honorary U.S. citizenship in perpetuity, which, just goes to show how much he contributed.

My French ancestors thank you, as do I. It's difficult to be a die-hard Francophile these days. In my teen years I had an enormous crush on Lafitte. Do you ever wonder what it might have been like if the French had won the French-Indian war?
can you even fathom one person being able to decide on so much money... sheesh. I actually think that the photo they showed of him made him look a little creepy...
I just blogged about a great french movie... you should see it too
The Americans have a perpetual love affair with the French, but the French generally are a little less enamoured of the US. This annoys Americans in much the same way as when your lover is the cooler one of the partnership: you want to complain and exaggerate and generally make noise, when the truth is, he does love you, just not as much as you love him and not exactly as you want him too.
This is nothing compared to the situation vis a vis England and France. The English love all things French including every little fixer-upper house in Provence (ok, I exaggerate). The English go shopping in Boulogne or Calais on Saturdays, honeymoon in Paris and eat in French restaurants, call condoms, French letters and absolutely loathe the French ('they don't wash') and the fact the can't speak English.
The French come to London in droves, buy up Marks & Spencers knickers (panties to you) and their expensive takehome foood, they honeymoon in the Cotswold towns, spend their gap year in the UK, call condoms English hats and absolutely loathe and hate the English and the fact they can't speak French.
To me that's two strikes out of three, so its the French not you or the English (not British, the French don't hate the Irish, Scottish or Welsh like me, that's because we all play amazing rugby).
I don't know where this comment was going, sort of a mini blog on your's. As Boowasborn's banner says, just forgive me first, it will save time...
It's hard to be a successful rogue unless you're attractive.

By the way, thanks for your comment and wasn't that a wonderful result in South Carolina?

More by the way, I've never been involved in a campaign before this. Coupla years ago, I was bracing myself for a Hillary presidency. I liked HER well enough, but I was and am sick of Bill and his pointing his finger in my face and lying about never having "sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky."
Had Obama not entered the race, I'd have stayed an independent, not been allowed to vote in the primary, and been satisfied with whomever the Dems decided to nominate.
And more by the way, I will be ecstatic the day we elect a woman president. I'm just not in favor of this particular woman, but especially, I AM in favor of Obama, to the extent that I've campaigned for him, spoken on his behalf, raised money, and all that kinda stuff. Obama's special.
Just came by to give you a coupla more eProps! :)
