What was the first album you bought?
Charlie Sexton, Pictures for Pleasure
It was actually a cassette tape, but it was the first that I ever picked out, it was my music, not my older sisters' or parents' music. I read about him in Spin, walked to Sound Warehouse and sampled it on the big-ass headphones and bought it.
Oddly, enough, fairly recently I picked up one of his recent albums, Cruel and Gentle Things. He is really an amazing musician.
I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

Blondie's Parallel Lines. For the record, it was not a new release. I bought it on vinyl with babysitting money.
London Calling, The Clash. I think it was the very last vinyl I ever bought.
LoL wow i'm young but the first tape I ever bought (or the first two) was The Score by The Fugees (classic hip hop).
You are 100 times cooler than me. 8-track. Barry Manilow live. The one where he's wearing a blue spandex rhinestoned jumpsuit on the cover slip.
