Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come. Psalm 71:18

PART 2 OF 3

I was employed as a secretary in a local independent bank when I got married.  One of my favorite customers, Jim, attended our wedding.  I loved him like a brother. One afternoon, upon my return to work, he stopped by my desk to chat. During the course of our conversation, he mentioned that he never knew I had ‘religious’ training in my background. Well, I found out that he did also, but he wasn’t living for the Lord either. I was so happy! Jesus shone through at our wedding! God is faithful!

Jim told me that he was raised Pentecostal. He then proceeded

to tell me the following story.

One of his brothers fought in the Army during WWII and was captured by the Germans and placed in a concentration camp. The hope of ever getting out alive was nil, but he had a praying momma. The Word of God declares in James 5:16, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

I don’t know the timeline or other details, but Jim’s brother did make it out alive. When he was home, one day his mother asked him about something in the cell he had occupied.

The brother was shocked at the question and asked her how she knew that since there was never any communication between them. This little mother held her son in constant prayer and the Holy Spirit allowed her to see in the Spirit where he was and what he had. She knew  everything about him and his cell. Never underestimate the power of prayer! One of my favorite verses is 1 Peter 5:7 ~ Let Him have all your worries and cares for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

God is faithful!

** On Thursday's post, I will tell you what happened to Jim. **

I am going to share this with my husband. We have been worried about one of our sons. This morning he asked me "how do we not worry about him"?

 AMEN! That is one of the hardest things for someone who isn't close to the Lord, to understand. I have tried to explain it to someone who has doubts - that God gives us the information we need to have. Great story! :goodjob:

just as I clicked submit a verse came to mind " Is the arm of the Lord too short....."  Or something like that but I cannot find it!  argh.    It was just the thought of how God can do things as you described, we often don't believe it though.
