THE TEACHER APPLICANT
Received in an e-mail

After being interviewed by the school administration, the teaching prospect said,  “Let me see if I've got this right: You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning. You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self  esteem and personal pride. You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a  checkbook, and apply for a job. You want me to check their heads for lice,  recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the  state exams. You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless  of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English and  Spanish by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card. You want me to do all  this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big  smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps. You want me to  do all this and then you tell me........

 I CAN'T PRAY?”

I love that! Thanks for sharing the post.

How's your weekend going? I hope it is a good one. We went to the Persecution last night. The kids had a great time--at least I know Kellie did. The adults had fun too. Enjoy the day. I trust your worship today will be sweet--for you and the Lord.

Good Morning Carolyn. Thanks for your visit.

I loved this post. It is so true. It was just perfectlly written. Our country has chosen the down hill road to the darkness, instead of the upper road to the ever increasing bright light of the Lord.

Nicely done,

frank

For months I have been bumping into your comments and have agreed with everything you have said. I kept telling myself, "Self, stop by that site and see what it is all about." I've stopped, I've read, I liked, I subscribed.

Blessings!

That's awesome, and I didn't mean to be rude in saying that people were weird, it is just their intentions. The one person that I was talking about didn't have the right idea when she was going to paint her room.

Indeed! hey Carolyn, hope the winds weren't too bad for you down there. I have only experienced them once going the direction your son would have been. They weren't enough to close the highway but still very strong. Have a great day!

:sunny:

i am fortunate enough to live in a small alabama town where prayer is still allowed in the school.  there is one little school - 500 kids total K-12.  teachers often pray before class starts and prayer is said before lunch and sporting events.  it is sad how very rare this is...  :sunny:

This is too close to my heart as I experienced this subject first hand. I am not a teacher, however when I lived in Florida I had to deal with some teachers telling my seven year old she could not thank God even for her food...They went so far as to dicipline her for folding har hands at the table...:nono: Needless to say I put a stop to that...I went in every lunch period and prayed with her. I would have liked to have them tell me I couldn't pray. Anyway, this was a good post....It is really impossible to teach morals and righteousness without God.

Thank you for sharing that song. I had not seen it before. When it was finished, You Tube suggest I view my all time favorite song. You may have seen it, and it touches me to the core. Tanya Goodman Sykes, "Look For Me". If I knew how to link, I would, but it is on You Tube.

Blessings!

God bless our teachers....This is why we chose a christian school for our son. I know it isn't free like public school, but its where we put our priorities. My prayers are with our teachers and our children.
