DO YOU BELIEVE IN . . .

Divine Protection

"I will protect those who trust in My name."
Psalm 91:14 NLT

On a chilly winter afternoon before going home for dinner, Pastor Walter Klempel fired up the church furnace in preparation for choir practice. When it was time to return to church with his family, they were delayed because his daughter changed her clothes. At the same time, student Ladona Vadergrift was struggling with a geometry problem and stayed home to work on it. Sisters Royena and Sadie Estes' car wouldn't start. Herbert Kipf lingered over a letter he'd put off writing. Joyce Black was feeling 'plain lazy' and stayed home till the last minute. Pianist Marilyn Paul fell asleep after dinner and her mum, the choir director, had trouble waking her. Pals Lucille Jones and Dorothy Wood were late because of a radio broadcast. Every single choir member was late; something that's never happened before nor since. Was it just a fluke? No! At 7:30 that night, the West Side Church was flattened by an explosion from a gas leak ignited by the furnace ... directly below the empty choir loft!

God's looking out for you when you don't even know you're in danger! As His child, you 'live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by ... God ... He rescues you from every trap ... He will shield you with His wings ... His ... promises are your armour ... He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go' (Psalm 91:1-11 TLB). The Bible says: 'The Angel of the Lord guards and rescues all who reverence Him' (Psalm 34:7 TLB); 'To trust in God means safety' (Proverbs 29:25 TLB). You can call it coincidence, chance, fate, or you can call it what it really is - divine protection!

Oh YES.... protection from physical dangers... and spiritual dangers!!! We need the Lord to help us guard our mind!

Also, we have to keep in mind that He may chose to draw others to Him by taking home a loved one or allowing a trial.
Blessings, Bee

I have always told my girls the same thiung. If you forget something and have to go back, don't think of it as a problem, but as a possible intervention of protection. Last year, my daughter and  I were on our way out to a movie (still in our neighborhood but within site of the exit) when I realized I had forgotten my phone. The plan was to call my husband at work when the movie was over to meet for dinner. We went back, got the phone and left...a 5 mintue delay. As we got to the lights at the exit of our neighborhood, we were met with the remains of an accident that had just occurred. That little delay saved us from being involved! I truly beleive it was divine intervention!!!

Hi Carolyn,

So good to hear from you and Yes, I do believe in divine intervention and protection.  I was traveling over a two lane bridge in the rain some years ago when a car decided to cut me off and I skidded down an embankment - backwards.  My car rested among but not into some newly planted trees and there was not a scratch on my car or myself.  The skid marks were on the bridge so that I could show them to my family the next day, we were all amazed and I praise God for His angels.

Blessings to you,

Mike

The wife and I have always believed that God is dealing with dangers in front of us--some we never see, many that caused on injury, others coming a just the right location--like the old car breaking down just was we came up onto a auto repair shop.  I know many Christians suffer due to accidents, illness ect like we have, but I believe God is sparing us much by His knowlege of the future.
