1. Missed too many early-August birthday extravaganzas with my friends.
2. A good friend is moving to Japan and needs a "yes, you can move away with your hubby and live to tell" pep talk.
   
3. I voluntarily ate sushi AND organic green tea today. (Which means I'm WAY too far from a Sonic.)
4. The earth here is not stable. (Yes, I felt it. no, I wasn't under my desk — I was too confused.)
5. I can't imagine spending a weekend without my husband. (Sweet, but probably not healthy)
   

We finally broke down and bought a portable GPS unit for the car. I figured it would be good for our upcoming trip to San Diego, and the one we bought receives live traffic info, which might actually be helpful here at "home."

I tested it out tonight on a trip to Target (a drive I could probably do with my eyes closed). When I  got close, instead of telling me to turn left across a busy street into the Target parking lot, the turn-by-turn voice — who I now know to be "American English Jill" — sent me right into a residential area, then left, then left again, then left again onto the street where I started, then into the parking lot, which was now on the right side of the street. I don't know if it's because that street is a divided highway and the GPS didn't "know" about the turn lane into Target, or if it was because the "avoid U-turns" feature was on, or, if it's Zoolander-enabled and sensed I was not a confident enough ambi-turner to make a left in heavy traffic.

Played with it a little more at home, and I can't wait to try out the "British English" and "Australian English" voices for turn-by-turn directions. Good times!

Okay, I TOTALLY know who the fifth cylon is. (If that statement didn't pique your interest, you can skip this whole post, 'cause you obviously don't give a rat's.) I'm posting my absolutely rock-solid theory on the internet so I can "told ya so" with authority when I am proven right.

So ... it's Lee Adama. And Admiral Adama has known all along, 'cause he's in on it.

You see, the "final five" cylons are actually the ORIGINAL five cylons. Early in skin-job development, real people were kidnapped and a "medical procedure" was performed that made them cylons. That's why they have memories of real pasts and childhoods. None of those models was put into mass production, but the "cylon nation" has been aching for a reunion.

I have two possible theories on how Lee Adama figures in to this. Either ...
a) All this early cylon-makin' was going on about the time Admiral Adama's other son died. Lee has a brush with death, and the Admiral can't stand the idea of losing another son. He knows a guy who knows a guy who knows the cylon's technology, and uses it to bring "Lee" back to live.

or ...

b) Admiral Adama saved Lee as a baby from that experimental cylon factory we saw him on in his early years.

Okay, so there it is. Proof that I'm a waaaaay bigger geek than you ever imagined.
