David Cook vs. David Archeleta.
Honestly, I don't think little Archie even holds a candle to David. But....seeing as my dad and I don't exactly see eye to eye on this topic (see his comment on the bullet post from Tuesday)....sheesh.....I thought I'd trained my poor papa better. *sigh*.....At least my brother agrees with me.
Who do YOU think will win??
For my money....here's the winner - the real one - of this year's competition. He's the one with talent.....

@papaphred - right on, man... right on... After last night's hometown video, I liked DC a bit more. I think he handles the attention very well, and for that fact alone I think he will win next win. But my votes (and my heart!) belong to David A.
He has actually made me cry a few times and has the most humble, personable attitude. I adore that kid. It would be amazing to see him win, but I think DC has a wider appeal.
Phoenix, this also relates to the whole "soft-hearted" thing we discussed, haha... it's okay to let other people have different opinions than you do... really... it is... you won't become a terrible person. Just allow others to have favorites that are not your favorites! No need for war! Give your Dad (and Archie lovers) a break. Please!
@CcloudsM - Tres harsh ceese....wow. You can like the human version of a sleeping pill if you like.
@papaphred - I kinda like the hair....and the scruffiness. Ah well...it's all opinion anyway.....and since Jen agrees with me, I think I'm in pretty good company. :)

My American Idol is Michael Johns. I don't care which David wins, I can't stand either of them. (Actually, I haven't watched the show since Jason left, since he was my second choice.)

Hmm...I don't understand the appeal of American Idol, I guess. It reminds me too much of my job (vocal coaching). My personality is such to analyze and I see things and right or wrong vocally...so it really would bug me to watch it.
You know I was voting for Castro. I had to. But I'm going to have to go with you on Cook. Everytime I look at the other one I expect him to open is mouth & start singing something along the lines of Kids Incorporated or one of those hokey songs from the Brady Bunch movie. Maybe he could play Bobby Brady when they decide to make another one, but I don't see him ever having a real career... unless he wants to be the next "Gayken."
Archuleta has great raw talent, but he's a few years from being performance ready. Cook is fantastic, and not just a singing machine, but creative and insightful in his music! I can't wait to hear his first album. I hope they don't make it all cheesy. Cook should win by a longshot, but if he doesn't it just means that there are a million more teenyboopers who watch AI and voted for Archuleta.
The only other person I think who could have held a candle to Cook is Carly Smithson. She was a dynamo! I can't believe she got the boot!

and about Castro, I really liked him at first, but eventually came to see that he didn't have much depth. All of his songs were sounding the same.
