| | One of my piano students made a little clay bear on a toothpick swing for me today. It's adorable beyond words.
I'll miss her when I go to Winston-Salem. I only get to teach her one more lesson. She's the one who, when I was teaching her bass C, middle C, and treble C, burst into giggles, hid her face, and squealed "It's like two guards! Middle C is the king and the other C's are the guards!"
She made a lot of careless mistakes in her theory workbook this week, and when I had finished checking it, and marking all the wrong answers, she gave a big sigh and said, "I thought I knew it so I did it real fast. I guess pride goes before a fall."
Teaching children in the 7-15 age range doesn't usually thrill me, but we've had an awful lot of fun.
Late night conversations with the John's about monasteries and messy desks, Sampsons, treehouses and Bosendorfers are great fun.
My dentist has ordered me to have all my wisdom teeth removed. |
