Why haven't I heard more about UNCG? I really like this campus, the music building is lovely, and everyone I've spoken to has been friendly, knowledgeable, and competent.

I'm sitting in the music library (a REAL music library) right now, waiting for a chance to speak with the assistant dean about fellowships. Elisabeth is writing a French composition at the table behind me, and about to head out to accomapany a pianist (yes, you read that right).

I stayed in a coed dorm lastnight. A very quiet, pleasant place. Still, that was a first in my experience.

And Campbell people are EVERYWHERE! Go to Greece or Greensboro - you'll find them. I guess I'll always have to be on my best behavior.

I told you it was a nice place!
hope your audition went well!

and if I had known that you were going to be at UNCG I would of said to say "hi" to Liz for me and John, which I suppose you could do anyway...

Hana was thinking about going to UNCG... I think she's still considering it, but Appalachian's higher on her list. She's majoring in violin. Minoring in English, too, I believe.

Hey, I think UNCG should top out Appalachian on Hana's list! I'm all about this school! They were so welcoming and so helpful - faculty and staff and students all - and they accepted me (it's official!!) - and the department chair has undertaken to nominate me for a graduate fellowship, and one of the professors sent me a personal email expressing his hope that I would end up there, and promising to lend his fullest endorsement to my fellowship application. I LIKE this place.

By the way, I have a friend who's a piano/violin double major at UNCG. I know Hana knows the Malcolm family, but I don't know if she's had the chance to actually speak with Elisabeth about the UNCG strings program. If she'd like to, I know Lizzie would be happy to describe her experience.

By the way, I'll pass on y'all's greeting to Lis, Eddie. Look for her on facebook under Lis Malcolm. :)
