| | Getting married to a wonderful man is highly recommended to all you girls.
Charleston is also highly recommended. I can't begin to tell you how beautiful it is, how charming the people are, or how scrumptious the food is, though that probably won't stop me from trying.
I attempted to start putting the apartment in order this morning, but I can't seem to get beyond standing in the middle of the living room, in a two foot by two foot space, poking boxes with my foot and wondering where all my pencils are. My (still packed) suitcase hasn't even made it into the bedroom. It's in a corner of the living room, and every time I want a piece of clothing, I have to trek out to the living room and dig it out. There's no point in moving it to the bedroom or closet, because there's no space for it. We have, however, made progress since Wednesday night. Lastnight Evan perched our biggest box, filled with papers and packaging, on the roof of his car and drove it over to the trash compactor, while I trotted along beside to make sure it didn't fall off. Our neighbors stared round-eyed and expressionless. We arrived, breathless but triumphant, at the trash compactor, only to realize cardboard isn't allowed in the compactor. So then we had to carry the box (between the two of us) down to the dumpster, and sort out the plastic from the paper.
I'm now going to teach, and to acquire a pair of nail clippers and a real washcloth. I'd like to be able to use this dishcloth in the kitchen where it belongs.
