Well, this week has held a couple of milestones for Mr. Camden Edward.  Yesterday he got his first non-cereal food: acorn squash.  I would like to document this, because I need to just in case I don't ever do it again - I made Camden's baby food.  The books seem to indicate that the cereal you buy at the store is best, so I decided to start the "mommy-made" with the vegetables. I bought an organic squash, steamed it in the microwave, then ran it through my food processor.  It was really amazingly easy, and that way I am very sure of what my baby is getting.  We'll see if I do it again next time.  By the way - Camden loved the squash, and he gets bananas next, in a few days.

Secondly, Camden started sitting up on his own today!!  It was very exciting, mostly for me.  I'm such a silly mommy.  He can't do it for more than a couple minutes at a time, but it's still cute.  I would also like to note that he went to bed at 10 tonite.  That's very early for him, and I am thrilled.

Tomorrow night we are going out to dinner with one of Andy's friends.  I'm looking forward to it, and I'm hoping that it doesn't snow so much that we are prevented from going.

Here's a cute one - a little old, but still cute.

excellent up-the-nose shot.

camden is sitting up already?  first step - sitting up.  seconds step - crawling.  third step - walking.  fourth step - running.  fifth step - hitting home runs @ kauffman stadium.  well, maybe there's some steps in between the running and the homerun-hitting, but there can't be that many.

You were ambitious making Camden's baby food!  Glad he took to the squash especially since it was made by MOM.

I was just reading up on making your own baby food last week and wondering how time consuming it would be.  You've inspired me Katie...to at least try it once.  I think we're still a couple of months away from that, but I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
