Parents can be so unreasonably irritating. Mine get mad about crap that has absolutely no consequence on life whatsoever. They look for things to be upset about because they're so startled by any form of deviation from the norm. If things aren't exactly the same as always, there must be something awry and there must be someone else to blame. It's beyond aggravating, it's infuriating. It makes me not want to ever come home, and when I do, I stay as far away from them as I can to avoid these little debacles. Then they bitch about the fact that they never see me and wonder why I'm so distant.
I try with them, I really do. They just make it so difficult. I know that nobody's family situation is normal, which makes it so that normal is abnormal, but I wish that just every once in a while they could be contusive to a pleasant familial experience.
