  • I am ALIVE! Believe it or not... :-p

    Running Just to Catch Myself.
I have officially become addicted to jogging. I'm not sure what it is about it... it's like a nice long shower. Something about it is refreshing. :)

Remember the Titans. I watched it night before last. That was a good movie, though I thought Glory was better ... maybe its just because I don't get football. I need to watch Glory Road. Denzel Washington carried it (Remember the Titans), just like he did in Glory.

The Pre-Qualifier. It's such old news that I really shouldn't post about it. :-p

My opinions on predestination. I believe that we are all predestined. I believe that we all have a free will. I believe that Christianity is a relationship where both sides choose to love each other... and that in this situation, God controls both. Why are these ideas mutually exclusive?

My birthday. I got an ipod. I love it to death. I've got podcast subscriptions and all my music on it.

Ah, the power of google. I discovered that I can go to google with all my math questions, and it will turn up all of the answers. :-p [EDIT: Not cheating, but suplimentary material. :-p!! I'm not actually posting the problems, but google concepts to hear it put another way if my program doesn't explain it well. :-p]

Interesting experiment. If you want to black out, go sit on a couch. Now, breath as deep as you can 15 straight times. Now blow hard on your thumb. I tried it last night, but fortunately stopped before I was gone... :-p

Speaking of which... does anyone know how to delete stuff on an ipod? Mine is a nano... if you do, please tell me as I can't figure it out yet.

Like a load of bricks. It hit me yesterday why God created the law. There had to be a reason. Why was there all these seemingly [some of them] pointless provisions that we had to follow? To show us that we couldn't. We couldn't understand our weakness, and our incompleteness without the law. :)

    Note to the hardened.
To those who say it’s all in vain
To lose your life for liberty’s gain
You will never feel the pain
You will never know the chains
Because for you, crosses now stand
Representing many a brave and loving man
Those who said “it’s not in vain”
“To lose my life for liberty’s gain”

  • an Ipod! sweet! what color did you get?

-Google is way awesome... but im not so sure about using it to cheat...

  • haha, i tell people that i believe in predestination and free will, and they think i'm crazy... :)

that's a really cool birthday present. ;) wish i had one....

amen about the law. i've often thought about that myself, and have (after study and thought) come to the same conclusion.
  • THANK YOU for agreeing that predestination and free will are not mutually exclusive. Everybody at State was all weird about that. *sulks*

Your iPod is crazycool. You should name it. ^_^
  • Well then happy birthday!  I forget, maybe I've already said that.  Oh well.  And yes, you should name it.  I have a shuffle and he's named... Mr. Shuffle.  I was feeling inventive.  I think you ahve to go through iTunes, and once its in the source list, delete the songs from there.  At least that's how you do it with a shuffle.  I haven't seen all of Titans, but I want to.  Football ROCKS.  But I can't play it...

Hey how to you do the mrgreen thing on xanga?

  • I didn't pass out... I just felt lighteaded.
  • Free will is by definition, freedom of the will. If God controls the feelings, or will, that we have, and can predestine our choice, then it is not free will. Thus, we cannot simultaneously have a "free will" and yet have God "choose" for us. You need to choose which you'll espouse.

Your comment about "both sides choosing" is just logically impossible, because if God is choosing for us, by definition, it is not our choice to make.

Love by definition must be voluntary, thus predestination on God's part cannot mandate love on our part.

I recommend giving it a bit of thought... they two are mutually exclusive by definition of free will.

There are many other issues which cannot be contained, debated, or resolved with any finality, and thus, no definitive and final conclusion can be reached, but yet its quite certain our love cannot be simultaneously free, and controlled by God.

  • Will: Maybe you should stand while you are doing it... I just didn't want anyone falling over and shattering their skull or something.

Ben: Ah, but predestination does not include current control, but past control. Think about it for a minute... PREdestination is ... PRE. Free Will is about the present. And by free will I think in terms of "we can choose what we wish" ... and that ... our wishes were just decided by God. =)
  • Ahh, I watched Remember the Titans last night and really enjoyed it!

  • iPods are so freaking awesome it is just not even describable. I have the 20 gig U2 limited edition. I love it to death. Plus it is different from other iPods, it is red and black. Plus it has the laser engraved signitures of each of the U2 band members on the back. Awesomeness.

Emily pretty much covered what you have to do to delete a song off your iPod. Just go into iTunes and right click the song you want to get rid of and click clear. Just follow what the pop up boxes say after that. Then just hook your iPod up to your computer and the iTunes automatic update should take care of everything else.

ALSO BE SUPER CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH IT. It is insanely easy to scratch an iPod. A protective case is a must.
  • that's habLo, not habo lol. jogging rocks. watch that IT band... pickle, that's what messed me up. interesting, next time I want to black out, I'll give it a try. I would type with more capitals, but I have a cricket in the other hand. did you know crickets bite? i don't think they spit like grasshoppers, though.
  • w00+ for jogging.

remember the titans is a pretty shweet movie.

    happy birthday.

    see you in a week.

you love you ipod as much as liberty?

  • "My opinions on predestination. I believe that we are all predestined. I believe that we all have a free will. I believe that Christianity is a relationship where both sides choose to love each other... and that in this situation, God controls both. Why are these ideas mutually exclusive?"

    Well I think that's dumb

Either you choose your own actions or God chooses them for you without your consent.

:::mutters::: not mutually exclusive my foot.

  • Not sure what's up with the pics. Nobody else is reporting problems.

Not sure if I want to share my linkage secret...

    *coughcoughdon'tclickherecough*

  • I'm not sure exactly what you are asking in your question about free will, but I believe that in our depraved nature, we only have the ability to choose sin (or disobedience to God). When God saves those whom He chooses, though, He fills us with His Holy Spirit, which enables us to make God-honoring choices. So we do have free will, but the only way we can choose anything good is by God making us choose good. Does that make sense?

I'm glad you discovered the purpose of the law. I recently discovered that, too. I have never been so interested in God's word as I am now. There are so many amazing things He has been teaching me. It truly is The Great Adventure (Steven Curtis Chapman) :)
I like the poem at the end. Did you write it, or do you know who did?

  • You basically have to delete a selection (song, book, w/e) out of your Itunes Library to get it off your Ipod...i have a nano as well...don't they rock?!?! Since it auto syncs with the library, you can only make it go away from the Nano by making it go away from the libary.
  • Shaun,

I didn't know you were doing your 'diary' on here. I thought that you were doing it on Blogspot so I have kept checking the one which has the 'Why They Gave' post on it.

I'll be checking this more often, sorry.

    Big B.

  • No no my friend you have it wrong on your site.

    Its "God, Ireland, Guns, Glory"!

  • Can't go to Challenge, I'll be in Oklahoma that week.
  • He was an enthused fan at a volleyball game, so hopefully he doesn't look like that all the time.
  •  Hey, speaking of TeenPact Challenge I'm staffing it this year. Are you ( or anybody else ) planning on coming?

     Til later, Joseph

  • SHUSH, Shaun! Big Brother is watching... you don't want to land your friends in prison, do you? :)
  • I haven't read 1984, but I know the general idea behind the book. I'll have to get it from the library.
  • Take a wild guess Shaun.
  • Yes, I did judge you. Hope the experience wasn't too hard on you.
Looks like you cherish your second amendment rights.
  • Good luck this weekend!
