Austinites, I'll hit you guys up the weekend after, for some PARTAYING!

So today I went to the 19th Annual Asian Festival here in San Antonio.
I had an awesome time, oh, and Happy New Years to those of you, btw.
They had sooooo many fun and exciting events to see (and some good food
to eat), which resulted in me taking a lot of pictures.
Werd.
(Hit refresh a few times maybe if the photos seem too big. Photobucket does that sometimes... )

This is the Tower of the Americas, here in downtown SA. It's a restaurant... and I've never been up there.

The event was held at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures.

This is the "museum" stuff that's normally there. This is "my" section,
hehe. Also, I was reading some of the text on the walls, and they were
talking about a "Ng" family.... so I guess I've got "long lost cousins"
out here too...

-RAWR!
We got there a little late (and we went to the wrong stage), so we
missed most of the opening lion dance. However, we caught the closing
dance later.

-RAWR #2 hehe kiddie ride.

Some tough little kids at one of the martial arts demonstrations

Chinese plate dance. (Yeah, I can't put up my other pics of this or the
fan dancing b/c they're too dark since this was taken inside).

The Muay Thai ring.

Lunch. (Tong's Thai BBT)

These guys did some pretty cool moves --from the Indonesian martial arts

See?

Chinese--Tai Chi/Ji?

More. That guy was badass. It
looked like he wasn't even trying. I guess that's what happens when
you're just THAT good. (fyi: Everyone else DID look like they were
trying haha)

[Donatello] Bo Staff (I forget which type of martial arts this is... TKD?)

Bo Staff sparing. 4v1 (x2)

[Raphael] Sais

Japanese dance

Dance from the Phillipines.

Neons, yo. (That's the Texas flag btw, u numbskulls!)

Japanese -- taiko drums dance

Chinese -- Shaolin Martial Arts

Chinese -- Shaolin Martial Arts

Korean -- Kuk Sool Won

Hawaiian hula dance

Hawaiian fire dance
And as I stated earlier, here's the other lion dance we caught at the end.
What a way to close out an awesome, unforgettable day!

Some other cool things that I saw but either a) didn't take pictures or
b) only took movies of, but are definitely worth mentioning: Chinese
Ribbon Dance, Chinese Fan Dance, Chinese Tai Chi Chuan lecture &
video, Japanese hand painted w/ watercolor ink artwork, Human chess
board, Go, many many asian girls.
...and I've decided that I want to take up a martial
arts after watching these demonstrations. (Good recruitment tool, huh?)
I've narrowed it down to these two choices:
Shaolin Martial Arts or Tai Chi
Hmm...help me out, which should I pick? Give me your opinions, plz!
