| | Company is good and ill, But every man has
his free will.
I woke up thismorning and the cat
had her face right up to mine. I also
have a raspy voice and a dry, unproductive cough. I think it’s obvious what has happened here; the cat was trying to steal my breath. I’ll have to sleep with the door closed and a
pistol under my pillow from now on.
I’ve been
teaching Sunday school for the last few weeks, and I have to say that thus far
it’s been a delightful experience. I’m
teaching the teenagers of both the Girard and Erie
parishes, though Erie won’t get
started until next month sometime. The
kids from the Girard parish are just delightful, and strangely interested in
what I’m saying. This always shocks me,
as when I was a teenager, kids pretty much slept through their CCD
classes. Most of the students I’ve
taught over the years though have been lovely.
I was really rather gobsmacked this week when one girl brought a friend
to class, and a boy brought his girlfriend.
“My god,” I thought, “they’re acting like they’re protestants!” (In this case, a good thing.) I generally
keep miniature candy bars in the pockets of my jacket and toss them to the kids
when they get a hard question right. My
aim was bad today, and I ended up pegging a couple of kids in the head with
them. They handled this remarkably well.
Don’t forget to check out the "Reviews" tab.
I’ve also put a new post on Don’t Forget This
Poem.
Quote of the day:
I have never let my schooling
interfere with my education.
