Hilarity on Wheels

I find this to be majorly amusing.  As many of you know, I am rather fond of the work of William Gibson, who often writes of dystopian futures. In addition to his novels, I also read his blog.   Today he points out an article regarding the building of a new headquarters for evil Russian energy corporation Gazprom in St. Petersburg.  There are several pictures of submitted designs for the buildings, all of which are hideously megalomaniacal.  One of the comments on the story says "seems like everyone had to take a course in the imagery of William Gibson in order to enter"  Mr. Gibson replied "I never imagined anything this ugly."

Bwahaha.

Quote of the day:
"There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; the fun is in having lots to do and not doing it."

And now, for your moment of zen:

I can't envision such hideous architectural structures in St. Petersburg, or anywhere else for that matter.  Well, maybe in a Joel Schumaker film.  Ridley Scott wouldn't even go that far.  Do androids dream of electric sheep (not Gibson, but still appropriate, I think)?  Apparently they do in northwestern Russia.
