Residual self-image?

I modeled one of my online characters to have a gray beard, a broad-brimmed hat, one eye, and ravens sitting on his shoulder. I wonder what that indicates?

Most excellent.  I do the same.

I actually did an honors project on the idea a few years ago.  I took my class around a guided on-line tour of the different places one could have avatars or on-line personas.  It was interesting to see how the other people reacted (for example, on MUDs, the other players were always more than eager to help a girl - how could they be sure I was one?).

Another example: there have been lots of real-life chances for me to "start over" and appear differently to others than I do at home . . . that's never worked either.

Now I'm going to Wales in the fall.  I'm aiming for me . . . just slightly smarter!  (and I won't take nonsense any more!)
