There she is, you know here that girl, dressed in black. You look at her and wonder what goes on in her mind. Is her life so dark that she chooses a color to reflect that. Is her life sad? Does the black represent sad? Or is she rebelling against the norm? Like those crowds of kids in your high school. The ones that hang out in the corners dressed in black. Is she hiding behind the black? Attempting to fade away like a dying flower? You place a stereotype on her before you even know her.
On a new day you try taking a step back looking beyond the black. She has a fabulous smile and her eyes are sparkling. How come you never noticed that before. She isn't alone like you assumed. She is walking with someone laughing like they are old friends. You scan her clothes, still black. Then you see her shoes in a bright shade of red. A smile flickers across your face. This is a person you could stand to meet. The 2 stop and introductions are passed around. She has a sweet name and a smile for meeting you.
You mentally kick yourself for making assumptions based solely on appearance. You have to learn to not judge a book by its cover and see the beauty with in.
