Work (part2)
I know I complained about work (*SIGH*) a couple days ago. I have to admit there is something good about the company I work in. They made #11 in Orlando's top 100 companies for working families. That kinda makes us special. What makes us even more special is we are like a family. I had a question about something so I emailed a contact. That lady then forwarded it to her boss. The VP I guess is his title. The VP emailed me that he needed to discuss it with so & so and he would let me know. Much to my surprise the VP came to me yesterday and face to face answered my question. A part of me was surprised that he knew exactly where to find me. Yet I shouldn't be surprised we have a meeting with a bunch of people every morning. An other part of me was extremely impressed (hell I am proud as....) that he would take the time to come and talk to me. I have never worked in a company where the higher ups take the time to get to know all their employees. I am sure it probably helps that I am the head of "my department".
Just wanted to share!

But now are you going to share that tequila?
@Agreus - Of course...it is more fun to share. Drinking alone=no fun!
I'm impressed that a VP would do that too. It must have been a good question. :) It's sad that higher-ups don't do that more. My office doesn't have an outside chain of command; we all work in the same office, same building, same floor. But no one really likes to talk to the main-main guy. He's a grouchy/stuffy/mean old man that needs to retire. (He recently told a woman that's been at the firm for 20 years that her 5 weeks of vacation she earned was an inconvenience! .. yet, HE'S on vacation all the time?!) But the second man in charge is genuinely nice and listens to people. That's the way leaders should be. There should be no room for arrogance when dealing with a group of people. After all, they can't run their business alone.
@Obiesaseru - You got that right. It was a good question, which I will post about once the answer becomes public knowledge. Right now the answer is still in the works.....
