| | How Do I Love Thee? I Don't.It's late at nite, or early in the am, depending upon perspective. Why am I up so late/early? Well, partly because I'm a nite owl, but moreso because I'm working. Yes, working. Such is the life of an entrepreneur who loses momentum in the late afternoon, but regains it in the wee hours of the eve or morn.
I was working this evening, but then decided to handle my pesky billing. I can always be sure to keep others up to date, but heave a sigh at the mere thought of drafting my invoices. Oh well, had to be done, since I need to sustain some semblance of cash flow.
However, I tried to watch some TV to help keep me company, as I burned the midnite oil. Well, my dear friends at Adelphia decided it was time to upgrade my channel listing. I spoke with customer service last week about this & e-mail as well. Anyhoo, apparently, it's REALLY happening this time & the bloody system chose this moment, when I needed TV most, to be "efficient". Gee willikers!
Loved last nite's episode of "The Apprentice" that I TiVo'd, not because I attended The Human Value's concert at the Viper Room as I hoped, but because I was working. I had a meeting with a prospective client this evening and begin work tomorrow eve! Yea, another soon-to-be satisified client. She was fascinating to meet, because she had a great business model and sense, as well as a creative spark! Quite a combo. Plus, she recruited her Mom part-time, who was such a ... MOM. I look forward to a challenging, but rewarding business relationship. Challenging, because I'm unfamiliar with the industry, but I'm eager to learn!
Tomorrow [actually later today], I have a meeting with a prospective client. We'll see if I can "wow" him/her/them. It's bookkeeping for a somewhat start-up, so existing business with start-from-scratch basics. Would be cool to add the company to my portfolio, but who knows with these things, really?
My weekend was a blur of wacky, but fun activities, so a brief re-cap [well, brief for me]: Saturday, I met with a poetry group. WOW! So much creativity at one table and every poet there offered me great feedback re: my poem "Broken". Received really encouraging feedback to help me strengthen it, but I was amazed at the openness of everyone to read, listen, share and offer. It was the Story Salon vibe for my poetic side - niiiiice indeed! I look forward to meeting with all of them [there were only 5 of us this time 'round] again. To add icing to the experience, we munched and grazed yummy treats at La Frite Café.
Wrapped up Saturday and fumbled [probably literally] into Sunday. Enjoyed a friend's birthday party, which was really a friendly game of Texas Hold 'Em disguised. Not one to kiss and tell [and I don't think I did], but folks were CRRRAZY and competitive; just as I liked 'em! Hopefully when there's another get-together, I'll be able to make it, because I was cleanin' house, kickin' boo-tay and takin' names. At least until el Don Julio de plata. Curses and hexes to Don Julio Gonzalez Estrada and all his tequila offerings. Artistic bottles; beautiful hues; evil alcohol.
It was just that kinda party.
Whew! I needed a break from the numbers and I will finish my last invoice later this am. I need to sleep and without my TV, I'm nothing. Plus it's raining, which means I'll have a nice slumber. Ooh! My TV's done upgrading. Yea, now my TiVo & digital cable are outta sync and it'll take an hour to get them n'sync. Woo-hoo! Thank goodness TiVo can do this as I snooze.
My "currently listening" selection represents my brain at this point, in time, of nite.
