One Fine Day

I arrived safe & sound without much muss 'n' fuss. I caught up a bit with my friends & their dogs, ate some pizza, watched a cool flick and then fell asleep.

So far, I feel at home.

The pizza at Pizzicato I chose was the veggie pizza. It had the standard mozzarella and tomato sauce, but a nice addition were the pepperoncinis. The only complaint about the slice was that it wasn't on par with a NY slice, but for taste - it was a good taste and the toppings melted well. The slice was re-heated in a pizza oven, so the crust and slice were not soggy, which tends to happen too often in pizza joints.

That said, Pizzicato's not a pizza joint, but a restaurant with bold tastes to tickle anyone's fancy. My friend chose the arugula pear salad and a side of focaccia bread. The salad ordered was a medium, but it was large enough to feed 2 easily. There wasn't an overwhelming amount of fruit, salad or dressing and the salad was one of her faves, so raves all around for clean & well-blended flavours. The focaccia was accompanied by oil and vinegar and looked quite tempting, but not being very fond of bread, I declined the offer to try a slice or 2.

For drinks, my friend chose a soft drink and I had the strawberry lemonade. I thought it was going to be too sweet or too tart and I braced myself. I had no need to worry, because as with everything else we tried today, the strawberry and lemonade complemented each other. I'll return, especially as Pizzicato offers frequent diner cards. In this economic time, any perk is a good perk.

I'm glad I dined where the food speaks for itself - and not too loudly.

Foolishly, I signed up for a poetry group meeting at 10 am tomorrow; I could use a lie-in. I'll need to set my alarm, so I can get refreshed and then catch a bus to the venue. I'm lookin' forward to meeting some folk, but also hearing what poetry they write or find inspirational.

I'm watchin' a Law & Order marathon on USA of both the Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent editions. .

I gotta say it was a good day!

My "currently playing" selection are games I thought would be interesting to play and I'm already a fan of the series.

Peace,

Moi
