I went to the eye dr yesterday and learned that I am officially 20/20...well more like 20/15 and 20/25, but it all averages out!

Really noticed a change in the clarity while in London; did a bus tour and saw all the sites, super fun.

Decided to stay at my job and pursue something a bit more...while at the awards ceremony I attended Monday evening I met a great guy, Andy...don't know if I can post the picture of us on here or not, maybe better not, but he is pretty cute!

Well, not as cute as Nathan, but still....

Gilgamesh : A New English Version

Learning a lesson in patience and managing expectations. Been stuck at home bit and feeling a little pathetic.  I went to get my contact lens bandages removed from my eyes and only the right eye was healed enough for the lens to be removed.  So I have only one lens in, so each eye is doing its own thing.  I have an appt tomorrow at 9 am to see if the left one can finally come off.  I really hope so, otherwise I will have to wait until Monday and go into work with one blurry eye and one decent eye....interesting to drive though.

Checked out a few books on tape. The epic of Gilgamesh was a surprise.  The oldest known book in the world, 2700 BC reads like erotica, or more like porn, I would say....very shocking, but the story is very complex and interesting.  Anyway...really miss reading...

I can see!  Very weird, but a little hazy and feels a little like I have been swimming in a heavily chlorinated pool.  Slept afterwards from 5 - 9 pm.

I will double check with the eye dr tommorow if it's ok to fly in a couple of weeks, thought it would be good to double check just in case, wouldnt want the air pressure to mess up my eyes or something.

Hope to be able to drive and be better in a few days.  Maybe will check out a few books on tape or something.

Speedo, once I get the ok I will buy my ticket for 26 Oct - 1 Nov.  Let me know if you find any good flights, I hear Virgin is great from DC.

Take care...xoxoxo

I am at work and it is quiet and peaceful right now so I am finding it pretty enjoyable.  Still feeling a little under the weather a bit though.  Between studying and working a bit more lately and being very sedentary and eating anything I feel like without thinking.  I must have gained 15 lbs, so feeling very blah...therefore...

I am looking forward to the fall and the cooler weather and being outdoors quite a bit and getting some (relatively?) fresh air.

Been thinking about the things that I can spend my time doing when I am not working after 15 November - I should start a list:

1.  yoga class/gym; 2. meet with friends for lunch; 3. keep the house clean and learn to cook (maybe); 4.  read lots of books; 5. take a language class; 6.  Take calculus; 7.  learn to knit;  8.  gardening, esp herbs, plus plant some bulbs for spring;  9. Write letters to members or congress and corporations; 10.  get involved with civic and environ groups, ie Mothers for Clean Air; 11. regularly cloister myself for hours on end in prayer and meditation and come out with some grand epiphany about life and existence and contentment

or, another option: sit around and watch bad tv and be bored....I know the former will require a lot more effort and organisation, but I think either way I am likely to want to return to work after a week or two of this quixotic vacation.

Or another OR...maybe I won't leave my job afterall and will somehow be superwoman and fit all of the above hobbies/activities into the remaining hours of the evenings, mornings (I'm sure) and weekends...
