  • I wasn't actually on the schedule seven days in a row expressly so that I could waste a lot of time at home waiting on the contractor, but as it turned out that's what I did with all my compensatory time off.  Never did get the hole in the wall that the plumber needs; the contractor is supposed to come by first thing this morning.  I'm not sure how he defines "first thing," but I'm hoping it's before nine, so I can get to work by eleven or so.  I'm going to be putting in some very long days at work to make up for this.

The good news this weekend was that a coworker of mine came by with her boyfriend and his truck and picked up a couple of the armchairs I've been hoping to get rid of; and they're moving into a bigger space next month, so they say they can take one of the couches too as soon as they can organize a space to store it until they move.  That'll mean I can start to put some bookcases and things where I actually want them to go, and start unpacking the many boxes of books that are filling up one of the other rooms.

I know this is all I ever blog about any more.  It's pretty much all that I have on my mind.  I need to do some other executor-type stuff pretty soon, though; which will probably be equally boring to blog about.

  • Yup, I know that feeling. I got sick of typing "still no news on the house sale" on my blog, too

Feels good to get rid of furniture though, doesn't it ? And (as with most of the stuff) you'll never miss it and will only remember it if it crops up in photos.

I realised today how few paperbacks I have left in my collection. At one stage I had twenty bankers' boxes full of the things - now I probably have less than two. And do I miss any of the old "I'll read it again one day" stuff ? Nah.

Anyway. Can't remember what my point was going to be. Think it was along the lines of "Glad you're getting sorted."
