I see that Xanga has now added a feature where you have fifteen minutes to edit your own comments after posting. This will be a very good thing for those of us who can't stand to see typos in our own comments.
I met some friends for breakfast yesterday morning and then proceeded downtown for Festival International. We had fun, but I developed a headache from waiting too long to eat lunch. But I felt better after some crawfish maque choux and an ice cream cone. Then it started raining.
I thought about going back today to take some pictures on the last day of the festival. I deliberately didn't take my camera yesterday, because one of the friends I was with is a semi-pro photographer, and I don't like to take pictures around anybody who actually knows what they're doing. Today was the day that rain was forecast for the whole afternoon, but it held off. I didn't go out, though. Pictures next year, I guess.

Sounds like you had a great time.
Oh, and I LOVE the new edit feature. They should have thought of this a long time ago! I just wonder--why only 15 minutes? What if you don't discover the typo till 16 minutes later? lol Ah well, it's still an improvement, it's all good.
There, I just put the edit button to use. I had typed "typo" as "type"! Ha ha! LOL
I think my friend Ed is working on a piece where he's asking the pros and the semi-pros to share their tips in photographing. I already shared the only two I had off pros (get your film processed by a professional lab, not a 60-minute outfit, and stick with one subject and wait for your shot). Maybe you should have shot with your friend and got some pointers?
@bladesgal17 - Good point. The best photos I've ever taken were on a trip with my brother, who is a professional-quality amateur. My dinky digital camera takes pretty good pictures if I stand where he tells me to and frame the shot just like he says, and I did pick up some advice that I've used without him around.
Hm, i hadn't yet noticed the new feature, but it is exciting! Woo hoo for some upgrades that actually make xanga better.
I felt vaugely nauseous yesteryday from not eating... i should learn to carry a granola bar in my purse or something...
I'm a big proponent of just turning yourself loose with your camera, remembering that what will teach you the most is connecting with your instincts. What will you like to remember and how do you feel you could frame that image?
@lostyetlooking, I can't imagine not eating for a day by accident. I mean... it's food!
