  • Comfort Zone

We've all got one.. our zone that we never try something new and always trust what's best.. food, places to go, movies, etc.. but sometimes it's necessary to go out of the zone and just try it, see what happens.

The other night Kathy & I went to Cheesecake Factory and I decided to try the Fire Roasted Artichoke appetizer. Don't know what I was thinking.. maybe i wanted to try to be healthy or whatever, but 1) i don't know how to actually eat an artichoke.. 2) it was weird. lol. i should've had directions printed out from wiki-how-to first or had someone with me that knew how to eat it and show us. woopsie.. but now we know. lol. I'll stick to the spinach-artichoke cheese dip from now on.

Then the other day at work, I decided to order a Buffalo Chicken Pizza from CPK ASAP. bleh! worst pizza EVER on their menu. i thought it was going to be a well.. buffalo chicken... pizza.. similar to their bbq chicken pizza, but instead of being sweet and all bbq-y, it should've been tangy and spicy.. like buffalo chicken is! damn them. they had buffalo inspired pizza sauce.. and they added celery & carrots on the topping.. and they put in goat cheese mixed in with regular cheese. WTF? the goat cheese totally kills it.. and the carrot/celery.. as if eating regular buffalo sauce was too spicy. i freaking had to add Tapatio sauce on top to make it somewhat spicy.. and even then that sauce is weaksauce (hah pun intended). next time i will totally get the regular BBQ chicken pizza and add tapatio sauce instead. ... goat cheese -- wtf??

Now I know that most anything that is Grilled... is good! Pizza hut has a new pizza combination that includes grilled steak & chicken and red & green peppers.. mm sounds good. i just got it right now.. and it IS good! I added pepperoni & jalapenos for extra punch, and it makes it so much better. Also, if you haven't tried it yet, Pizza Hut's pasta is actually pretty decent.. and $12 that feeds 4.. that's a pretty damn good deal! :)

What are other foods/things you've tried out of your comfort zone that you liked?
