  • Gained in Translation--a Laugh!

Excuse my plagiarism, but this bit of instructional literature found *inside* a cute little "safe" I purchased was too good not to share.  I'm reproducing it as accurately as I can, except I can't very well scan in the two diagrams.  (Even the typos should all be theirs.)

    Instructions for Combination Lock

Please take your time to follow the instructions to well set your personal combination lock.

    Step One: How to open?

Adjust each tab to "0 0 0" horizontally, which was the original code.

    Step Two:How to change codes?

Please reset the code while the cash box is open.  Open the box cover to find the Change Lever on the back of lock.  Confirmed you have removed the red plastic tab.  Push the Change Lever from position B on the left (FIg. 1) to position A (Fig. 2).

Attention: Unless combination wheel is set at opening code (0 0 0), the Change Level could hardly be moved into combination setting position...

    [Fig. 1]  [Fig. 2]

Step Three:How to reset new codes?

Adjust the combination wheel to the codes you desire.  Better to use three numbers you're familiar with.  Record the new codes on the removable card at right.  The code in the middle horizontally is the right codes you set.  Then, remove card and store in a safe place.

Step Four: How to close and lock?

After setting, push the Change Lever back to the original position, i.e From position A to position B with no setting of combination disturbed.  Please make sure that this is done before closing the box cover.  Now, your cash box will only open at the newly set codes.

Attention: Bear in your mind the new codes.  If you want to reset a new combination, please refer to steps 2,3 and 4.
